Where Are they??

2 posts in this topic

I am going to look for some bigger snortherns for C&R this weekend in the dalton area =smaller lakes. How deep are they laying these days. I have not found any decent sized ones shallow only hammer handles. Anybody catching any and how deep? I have never had success while trolling deeper for northerns. But it seems like now would be a good time to try. What do u like to use? I am pumped for a 2 day weekend.

Try sucker minnows in about 18-20 fow. Got some nice ones the other night on a small lake outside of Alex trolling for eyes. The big northerns were bitting off our snells at the boat using jumbo leeches, swithced over to steal core leaders and sucker minnows and had a blast. Good luck grin.gif

Quite abit of new tackle, along with some different plastics options this year. Some of the new products have proven itself on soft water while doing some recon during the past few weeks, fishing first ice spots. Fine tuning "spots on the spot" can pay off big time, before fish become spooky from noise of crowds, which more times then not, makes them less willing to bite, and can make them move to other key locations nearby.

I'll bet this lure will get a lot of bites! It may even catch a few fish! Does look interesting. Cliff
