Heading up to long

3 posts in this topic

Heading up to the cabin this weekend on Long. Just wondering if any one has been out there. Trying to see what the walleye bite has been like.

I was up there 2 or 3 weeks ago and got about a 4pounder on a rattlin trap casting onto a weedbed. My dad got a 30incher on opening week with a leech in about 7ft of water. Any info. will be greatly appreciated.

Jonah are you working this Sat? If you are I am coming in. It looks like I might have all the chores done at the cabin and can finally start fishing some.

I have read that mercury levels are a reason there is no commercial harvest on vermilion. But it was probably the same thing you read as I have not found a second source of that. There is commercial harvest of rustys on other Minnesota lakes so there must be a reason it's not done here.    For or what it's worth, the DNR has suggestions on how much fish to eat because of mercury.
