I was just wondering if anyone has chatted with the Minnesota DNR about using SmartCast (wireless remote fish locator). If I have a slip bobber out on one pole can I still use another pole and cast the transducer in the water (and be legal)? I have had a few discussions with DNR down here and as long as I don't attach any bait to bottom of sonar I am fine. Any ideas on whether the Minnesota DNR feels the same?

I don't see why it should be an issue, unless there is a hook &/or bait on the transducer, there is hardly a way you're going to bring a fish in on it. If you did, call Ripley's Believe it or Not! smirk.gif

L2Fish - I did not think it would be an issue either however I have been questioned twice by DNR down here and had to explain myself on what it was. Also, bass fisherman think I am throwing topwater and ask how the bite is. It would not surprise me to have a northern swipe at it up there and hopefully a mouth full of plastic will convince them to let it go.
