mike? how is the parking situation gonna be. pops and i have always wanted to do the spring on the river thing but as we will be travelling about two hours to get there. my concern is parking. and being on the river. we have a lund deep v well set up but if there is gonna be gobbs of boats, we are not sure if it will be a fun thing or fustrating to fish. ... paul

Not looking to pull cranks up by the dam but was wondering if you guys pull any cranks later after the ice gives out a bit. I like to troll with 3-ways and will even handline but I am looking at the water that isn't being pounded. I have done the bumper boat thing with guys under the 494 bridge. PO's me when I find a spot and pick up a fish in my little 12' boat and have guys that slide right in with the 20-30 something 1000 dollar boats just because they saw me catch a fish. I'd rather crank and jig away further from the crowds. Which reminds me, hopefully all of the FM guys are giving ample space to guys that are working an area. No need to crowd people as the fish are there and the more traffic they see the more they will shy away. In my opinion.

There are folks that pull three ways there, saw some last weekend. If you all are looking for parking and colors, launch at Everts as he usually has room and always puts the latest colors on his counter top based on the latest reports. Sunday was slow, very slow for about everyone. We C&R'd only one 16" walleye up till the siren chased us of the water before the front rolled in. Water clarity was poor. Most expect the bite to turn on again one of these days like it had about week or so ago. Lots of floating timber and saw a slightly submerged green metal buoy about 1/4-1/2 mile or so north of Hays Creek, so use caution.

The parking should not be a problem. I would plan to come a little early as there might be a line at the ramp if the weather is nice.

You can always find a place to fish away from the crouds. The trouble is once someone sees you catch a fish you will have some company. For the most part the boats will all be making the same drift so you just manuver yourself to stay in the desired depth.

The fish should be in a full blown feeding mode if the water temps come back up a little.

Although it was a fun day on the water unfortunatly the fish were not jumping in my boat. We boated a handful of eater sized walleyes and saugers but we had to work for each bite. It seemed the best method for us was to anchor and cast to current seams with minnows.
