Great, just what we need, another receiver with a case of the dropsies. Wasn't he run out of Chicago for having the same problem as Mr Williamson? Or was it that he could catch it, but not hold on to it? I can't believe that they would take a chance on a guy that. confused.gif PLEASE prove me wrong Chily

Who else are we suppose to sign?? This year's FA corps is not that talented, and right now the most talented players and big name players are getting snatched up. Why do you think New England signed/traded two '07 draft picks for RFA WR Wes Welker of the Dolphins, because this year WR free agents is not very talented period. I am just happy we got someone at least, who has upside, are we suppose to bring back Travis Taylor or sign a problem player like Donte Stallworth? The other decent free agent WR this offseason are Stallworth, Quincy Morgan, Justin Gage, Corey Bradford, Travis Taylor, Bobby Engram, Az-Zahir Hakim, Troy Brown, and Andre Davis. Not much to pick from, so Bobby Wade looks alright right now because of his upside and young age. Why do you think WR like Ashley Lelie and Dennis Northcutt got snatched up right away, because of lack of talent out there this offseason at the WR position. At least Kevin Curtis hasn't signed with anyone yet, and we might have a shot at him when he hires another agent.

What the vikes need to do is figure out what they will do in the draft if its worth trading up to get a Calvin Johnson, or trade down and pick up a few picks and draft a Dwayne Jarrett or Robert Meacham type WR, who both are big guys and pretty fast for their size. The vikes also need to look at adding depth at corner and linebacker, now that Smoot and Nap Harris are gone, we need to find a true Mikebacker (middlelinebacker) Randall Godfrey, Donnie Edwards?? Also I do not know who the heck this TE who came from the Giants is, but there are some decent TE too look at in the draft and in FA (Doug Jolley, Jermey Stevens)

I just think that they should surround Jackson with people he can count on. The last thing he needs is to go into the season already doubting the reliability of the receivers. Maybe they should have pursued someone like Horn early on for his leadership. His old, but he has qualities needed for developing someone like Jackson. Honestly, I hope I'm wrong about this guy!

Childress is an (Contact Us Please). First he releases the only decent receiver on the team(M. Robinson). Then when they have no one left to catch the ball, he doesn't use Wiggins in an offense that is supposed to rely heavily on the TE. He then doesn't bother to resign Wiggins, apparently because he had someone called V. Shiancoe up his sleeve. Follow that with the signing of V. Ciurciu and the future Hall of Famer, Bobby Wade! Shear genius! I haven't checked with Vegas, but the Vikes must be the odds on favorite to win next year's Super Bowl.

To look on the bright side, at least with the current management and coaching staff I am not even slightly tempted to leave the woods to catch the game.

I wonder if the two "Chili" impersonators from the Vikes home games this year have burned their disguises yet...???

When Ryan Longwell threw a TD pass I really thought the guy was gonna be creative.

Then we dumped the ball off on every down we didn't run it, and I thought I was eating Vanilla wafers dipped in skim milk.

Yep.

Chili gives me gas.

I dont mind signing Bobby Wade, but the price? Since when is a 3rd or 4th receiver from a couple of average teams worth 3 million a year? That is a joke.

Guys the good news is with the lack of improvement being made by the Vikes, Chili will not last out the season...

i was pretty upset with the lack of moves done by the packers since free agency has started, but after seeing the stupid idiotic moves the vikes have done i just feel bad for you (Contact Us Please).

I might have missed a guess, but here are the ones that I noted:   JerkinLips – March 27th, then April 7th Brianf. – March 28th Bobberwatcher – April…. MikeG3Boat – April 10th SkunkedAgain – early April, then April 21st   Definitely a tough year for guesses, as it seemed to be a no-brainer early ice out. Then it got cold and snowed again.

On the south end...   Lots of ice on the main basin, but it is definitely deteriorating.  Some anglers have been fishing the open water at the mouth of the Rainy River in front of the Lighthouse Gap.  The rest of the basin is still iced over. Pike enthusiasts caught some big pike earlier last week tip up fishing in pre-spawn areas adjacent to traditional spawning areas.  8 - 14' of water using tip ups with live suckers or dead bait such as smelt and herring has been the ticket.  Ice fishing for all practical purposes is done for the year. The focus for the basin moving forward will be pike transitioning into back bays to spawn,  This is open water fishing and an opportunity available as the pike season is open year round on Lake of the Woods. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. With both the ice fishing and spring fishing on the Rainy River being so good, many are looking forward to the MN Fishing Opener on Saturday, May 11th.  It should be epic. On the Rainy River...  An absolutely incredible week of walleye and sturgeon fishing on the Rain Rainy River.     Walleye anglers, as a rule, caught good numbers of fish and lots of big fish.  This spring was one for the books.   To follow that up, the sturgeon season is currently underway and although every day can be different, many boats have caught 30 - 40 sturgeon in a day!  We have heard of fish measuring into the low 70 inch range.  Lots in the 60 - 70 inch range as well.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  Open water is continuing to expand in areas with current.  The sight of open water simply is wetting the pallet of those eager for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th.   A few locals were on the ice this week, targeting pike.  Some big slimers were iced along with some muskies as well.  If you like fishing for predators, LOW is healthy!

Early bird gets the worm some say...   I have it on good authority that this very special angler caught no walleyes or muskies and that any panfish caught were released unharmed.
