Directions from Duluth

Wondering if anyone has any advice on the best way to get to Baudette from Duluth. Mapquest shows that we should go through International Falls and cross over into Canada and then back over. How long should we expect to be on the road?

Should be about 210 miles right to Baudette plus the 10 miles to the lake from here. Drive it all the time and we always go thru Grand Rapids. Hwy 2 out of Duluth to Grand Rapids to Deer River then 46 to Northome. Make your way to 72 north to Baudette. Should be about 3.5-4 hrs depending on how the roads are. It might be shorter going the way mapquest says but then you would have to go thru Customs twice. Even going to I-falls then going west on hwy 11 to Baudette adds a few more miles. Hope this helps. Ya Hey Der, I would take No. 2 for sure. That way, if you have a propane tank you need refilled, you could stop in Floodwood at Jerry's. They refill your tank and charge you only for the amount your tank actually takes. Unlike here where I live. I get nailed for $19.00, no matter what amount they put in. In Floodwood, if you have a completely empty 20 lber, I think they only charge $10. and change. Nice, friendly folks too. Can't remember for sure but I think it's a Phillips 66 station. Last time I went up there Hwy 53 to south of I Falls then across on the states side was about 10 min faster. You can go 70 mph up to virgina if the roads are clear.... 6 in one hand 1/2 dozen the other
