Ha ha - You guys can all breathe again.

Nasty weather out there this weekend! Rain, Sleet, lots of wind, and now finally some snow.

Made it out yesterday and got one pike about 24 inches while my partner in crime / guide got two in the low to mid twenty inch range as well. Saw lots of perch, bluegill, and also a few really nice bass.

All in all it was a GREAT two days. Learned a few new spots and made a great freindship.

I might go out tomorrow morning if we don't get too much snow. I made a few more decoys and want to try them out.

Nice fish! My lovely wife pulled out a 12 1/2 pounder (northern) on a tip-up 20 yards from my spear hole not far from you (Turtle lake) this past weekend. The next day "Big Ed" slid into my hole and I choked. Now I've got nine months to relive that sorry moment until next season! I've enjoyed reading your posts as well as B & S's.

The wife got her fish the 23rd, my last day of spearing was the 24th, and her brother is a Conservation Officer so we're very legal! (He's the one who hooked me on spearing.) Metro MDAA banquet is March 10th at the Champlin Legion if you are interested...

Mike89 is spot on. Explore that river. Walleyes and cats can be had.

Shore fishing can be limited. Personally I would go to the fish hatchery on Lake Tetonka. There is a spot there that produces pretty well at times.

Good Morning everyone, The family and myself will be in Mankato July 27-29 for the MSF baseball tournament(U11).  It appears we may have down time Sat. Was wondering if  anyone could point me in the right direction to a shorefishing area I could take the family?   First time to Mankato, so no real idea where to look. Thank you.

I hadn't hit the river in >1 month, but last night went Fishing below the SCSU dam in St. Cloud last evening and the river conditions are really quite good for July.  Water height is at a good level and the past week of dryness has improved water clarity. (...that may change today with possible rain all day in forecast) Probably the hottest bite I've ever had in the river--Pretty much everything was biting on nightcrawlers!  (there were 10 different species pulled out in <2 hours!)  Fun Evening!

I assume you mean the 110 size one.  I have all three, the 90, 110, and 130 in different colors.  I have never had great luck using them however.  They are a well made lure and they have good plopping action, I just can't get very many bites on them.
