I drove by stoney point and theres a big pressure ridge out in front of the Fed campground landing. I have not heard of marshall point,I Assume it's the point down towards Horseshoe Bay. That's all I can tell you. Sorry

Chris @ Reed's fishes Horseshoe bay area, he may be able to update ice.

Marshal point forms the far South edge of Horseshoe Bay and the West shoreline leading into Uran Bay

Fished out of Uram bay just past Marshall point this past sunday morning. There are ice ridges going north towards Stony and south across Uram bay right from marshall point. We were able to cross the ridges right at the point with a wheeler. I dont think a vehicle would make it over where I crossed anyway. We found the ice was about 18" thick. Fishing was ok, a few perch ranging from dinks up to 10".

CB34:

My wife and I are going to be on Horseshoe Bay the first two weeks of February. Have you fished, or, have you talked to anyone who has fished the humps in Horseshoe or

Grassy?

The times I have been out there I have not seen anyone fishing in Horseshoe bay. There is one large house that looks like it is out past big rock reef (towards Stoney). Where is Grassy? I guess I am not familular with it. I am planning to be up there both the first and second weekend of February fishing out from Marshall Point or Big Rock Reef somewhere.

Grassy is just North of Horseshoe Bay Resort and forms the North edge of the Bay. The house you see may be out in front of Grassy a 1/4 to 1/2 mile out. There is usually one there and several in front of Horseshoe Bay.

This will my first time up this Winter so I don't know which houses are set up. Horseshoe Bay does not receive much fishing pressure on ice.

Hello Friends   Well it appears our dock company will not be able to lift our dock this season (Frazer Bay/Smart's Bay area) due to his lifting barge only being in this area first weekend in October and we like to keep the dock in until after MEA (this year ending October 21). Any suggestions? It's a pretty simple A Frame with a ladder and an L. I know I could do it myself, but have always preferred to have someone else do it.   Thanks for any insight

The panfish tip above is a good tip for Webb. I grew up fishing that lake and I'd say good luck! I haven't caught anything worthwhile in the boat on Webb in years. Tips vary based on species, but the points are good and look for the "hidden treasures"

Curious what that cost to have it surveyed if you don't mind sharing.

Questions. Would you like something on a motor route. Stick to or fish smaller lakes. Travel distance. How many days.

If you have an aluminum boat and open access to bottom of the hull, you can just set the transducer in a little puddle of water inside the boat.  The signal of a working unit will read just fine through the hull.

Ace (or anyone for that matter), have you been able to pinpoint the conditions that bring the big smallies up shallow in the fall?  Water temp perhaps?  Moon phase? A bait connection?  We saw this happen by chance a couple of years ago, which resulted in some very large smallies coming over the rails.  Didn’t weigh the biggest but my guess was 6lbs+.     Just trying to to see if this shallow movement can be predicted.    Brian

Deep weed edges have produced crappie during the transition period, before the water gets in the 50s. Rigging or jigging chubs have been a standard tactic for walleye this time of year. If your noticing a lot of debris throughout the water column, turnover may be going on, fish a bigger body of water, they turn over a little latter. Have not been on Webb, just tips for this time of year.... Good luck!

Try pine lake off of McFarland. Easy to get to and good size eyes. You’d need a portable fish finder though. Interesting lake for eyes. Basswood is awesome too but it’s a haul.
