I have a friend that works at the Rice Lake Refuge, I sent an email with the picture to see if she can answer me...

Her hubby is on the McGregor volunteer fire dept. and they are long time residents of the area. I'll see if I can get a good reply.

I've asked my girlfriend about this since she is from Mcgregor. All she said is that she feels sorry for the little girl because her dad is so weird.

I think it was a couple of years ago, but I remember he had "Help me, the county is trying to persecute me" painted in great big blaze orange letters on the fence facing 65. This was before he went on the current painting spree. Obviously he had gotten some flack from the county. Perhaps they told him to get rid of everything that isn't painted.

I did see him once this last summer getting the mail as I drove by. All I could think of was the movie "The Devil's Rejects".

All of my relatives are from McGregor and they don't know the story of this place. Too far outside of town I guess.
