So who shot it tjm????

166 1/8 gross

Come on BLB count the spread, length of beams, and G2's then do the math.I gave you guys in the archery forum more clues. He will net more then that.Compare last years 8 161 net he has over x amount just in tine length 2" more spread x amount in the kicker off the G2.That kicker is longer then what the pics shows grin.gif

Wait until friday 11:59pm results

I guessed this buck back when extreme was here.I was 3" off extreme was about ????? hehe

Might not be close, but then I didn't see your guess shocked.gif

No monsters yet this year, e-mail me at work your new e-mail address and I'll keep you posted what I'm seeing.

I'm head to Mille Lacs this weekend in chase of a nice walleye or two, so we'll see how that goes.

with those beams....hmmm. hard to estimate the circumfrence. 185 5/8 gross and 169 2/8 net.

The score is nice and all, but I have a different question for you. Was it a good hunt? Hopefully, you had to watch him awhile before you shot him, fraying your nerves a mite. Given the impressiveness of the animal, I hope that it was a fantastic hunt that you will remember not only for the headgear, but also the blood-pounding excitement.

Nice Buck!

For fun I'll guess 188 3/4........

I hunt 3B and get plenty of deer, so I'm with Harvey Lee, if I'm close give it to someone else.

That is still a heck of an offer tjm! Congrats on that deer!

Still waiting to see a clear picture of this deer, preferably with you holding onto him, not some hazy image shot thru a telephoto at dusk.

Well i guess you could say i watched him for about 20 minutes. The excitements there trust me.

I lost that on small bucks though.I've passed so many up the past several years it's kinda like seeing a squirel in the woods when your deer hunting.

Like i've said before (i have more fun setting up on the deer then shooting it when he comes in)

A good hunt is being around the guys i hunt with period. To hear the story from each and everyone.Talking about years past.Thats 1 of the reasons why i get more outa setting others up on big bucks.I know my deer hunting in the southern half of the state.Put me up north i'm probly lost. For me it's more about try'n to outsmart a big buck before the rut.I have passed up very nice bucks 130-140 class bucks just to pattern them for a friend.I can say that more of my time is spent on others then on my own deer hunting.

Now you get a buck like the 1 were going after when the winds outa the NW i'll do my part setting stands but i'll hold a few things back. This is once in a life time deer for anyone. If 1 of the other guys gets him well thumbs up i wont be pissed off i'll probly be more happy then if i shot it.

BY the way the scores are closing in

Hey TJM...

Would you mind posting some pics of deer you've shot in the past? I'd love to see some of the bucks on your wall.

I can't get over the pick of this monster you just shot...can't stop looking at it. It's making work tough today. I'm heading to the field in just a few minutes. Unreal...

If you ask me, I'd kill a huge eight pointer over any other. A main frame monster 8 (140+) is tough to beat.

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?
    • LakeofthewoodsMN
On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭

Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
