Feeding Frenzy 09-29

Yesterday was by far the best day on Gull this fall. Most everyone we talked to yesterday that was walleye hunting out there on Gull was catching fish. Lots of fish, including a number of big fish. Fish were caught through the entire lake north and south and from a variety of depths from 14 to the low 30s. Chubs were the ticket whether it was Redtails or creek chubs. Lets hope it continues for the rest of the week.

On a side note. I spent a morning up on the Whitefish chain a couple of days ago. It was a little tough for me. I'm sure that some folks found a good bite but I know that I struggled. We did catch a couple in 25 feet on redtails. Typically this time of the year that lake is much better. I think I'll stick to a few other lakes, until I hear a better report from up there.

Enjoy the week, it looks like a good one.

The bite continues. What an awesome day. The Twins take over 1st and the walleyes are feeding up on Gull. Today we found our fish from 24-30 feet. Bigger chubs on a rig were the ticket. There are also some big fish cruising shallow water, right up in the weeds, 10 feet.

Enjoy this weather while it lasts and Go Twins!

Yesterday was an awesome day! Warm weather, peaking leave color, Twins Magic, and great fishing, all that was missing was a catch or two by a Vikes receiver to make it a perfect weekend. Anyway my fishing budy and I had a very good AM on Gull, we landed 18 eyes and a few perch. We kept 8 14"-17" eyes and were done catching by about 9. Redtails on shorter rigs were the ticket. Man it's hard getting back to work on Mondays!

Great to see some good information flowing.  I'm looking forward to seeing more good reports and stories from even more of us in the forums and clubs.  Keeping the information flowing in both is essential. Thanks for all you do.

We would like to recognize 4 of our best posters in the forums and the Minnesota Fishing Reports Club. I will be giving each one a special goodie, if they get into the right club soon enough. Special thanks goes to @IceHawk, @Borch, and @monstermoose78 for the contributions leading what will require a persistent high quality effort to make the Fishing Report Club a must stop spot for fishing information. The 4 TOP GUN anglers who have been amazingly consistent since we first opened up the Fishing report club are: @AlwaysFishing23, @ANYFISH2, @Jim Almquist, and @mrpike1973. I'd like you 4 to check the right club out to claim your goodie by next Monday. Yes it will pay to pay attention to what is going on in here. The fishing reports will just keep getting better. Keep your eyes open. More goodies will be given based on different criteria, like best stories in the forums and clubs, best pictures, best videos, and more. We're looking for more Official Fishing Report Team members. If you are interested, message me. Have fun and enjoy the ride.

I hope you and your dad don’t mind passing along the story of your weekend. It’s a great story and defies conventional wisdom. Congratulations! The best fishermen have skill, intuition, and a little luck on their side.

Welcome to to Fishing Minnesota, TheEyesofanAngler. My favorite lake for bass in our area is definitely Clearwater. It takes a bit to learn the lake, but the rewards are more than worth it.  Littlerock also holds some very nice Largemouth with a few bonus smallies mixed in... I know you said lakes and ponds, but the Mississippi here in town and  the sections above the Sartell and Blanchard dams all are exelent smallmouth fisheries.

Was it a G.Loomis Conquest Mag Bass rod with a Shimano® Calcutta Conquest reel on it?  That would be mine!

I have snorkeled on head o lakes (off our beach) and it is usually ok.   Not Hawaii clear but 5 to 10 feet visibility....  OK, maybe 10 is a stretch, but pretty good.
