Corroded parts

I bought a couple of used outrigger mounts. They dont make this style anymore, and these are corroded and turning green. I am thinking about having them chromed. But for sure I need to make them look shiny and new looking again. Who does that kind of work here in Duluth? They are cast steel I think.

Joel, I'm no metalurgist but they must be a steel or brass based aluminum alloy (if one exists) if they turning green and pitted. Chrome plating (if possible) would have to done by electro-chemical process I believe. What about chemically cleaning them and clearcoating? Finish would wear off eh? Hmmmm... Try looking up metal fabricators in the book and seeing what they think. I knew a sculptor/metal worker years ago who did alot of plating with electro-chemical tank set-ups.

Try Plating Specialties,they are in the airpark 218-722-1892. I have had bumpers done by them and they do excelent work.
