Todd Pinkston a viking

Just saw last night that the vikings signed him to a one year deal. Must be looking for depth at the WR position.

Great move.....not. Hopefully they do not put this guy into the starting lineup anytime soon. I like our starting 3. We need a number 1 reciever not a number 2-3, we have enough of those. Lots of cuts going on with players that would be better than Pinkston.

Yeah personally i kinda like that Carter guy(#11). Made some good cathes in the preseason and looked like he could be a legitimate #3 guy along with williamson.

I can't believe they let Carter go just to replace him with Pinkston. This guy was a young playmaker---something the Vikes need terribly. He was not bad at returning kickoffs and punts as well. Big mistake in my book.

Carter was undrafted; probably for a reason? Maybe.

Carter only had 4 catches; probably for a reason? Maybe.

Carters catches were longer throws; open for a reason? Defenses didn't respect him, and put the worst of the back-up cornerbacks on him? Maybe.

Did you see how accurate he ran routes when you detirmined this un-drafted rookie wearing #11 to be such a talent?

Did you monitor his breaks for precision and consistency throughout the pre-season and training camp?

Did you test him on his comprehension of play calls, and examine his work ethic, attitude, and demeanor on a daily basis?

Did you monitor him in team meetings, and and get a grasp on his overall knowledge of professional football?

Did he like fishing?

Did he like Cheetos?

Does he wear #11 because after 3 years he'd want to be paid more then any other poor decision maker with a bum knee in the league?

Answer these questions...

Looked like he could catch the ball (Carter), I want to see opinions on Pinkston, when we all see the alligator arms come out.

I agree. Just watch, a couple years from now Carter will be playing some incredible football for another team, and we'll be kicking ourselves in a @ss again because we passed on another prospect. Seems like the Vikes always do that... heck... I'd say it seems like all Pro MN teams do that grin.gif

The only thing Pinkston can do is go down the field in a straight line. He might not be able to do even that with his bum achilles. I wouldn't doubt if the Vikings actually end up letting him go in the next week or so. Seems like our coach is willing to give anyone he has coached before a chance. Nepotism anyone? Like someone previously mentioned, Carter would have been available to field punts and kickoffs. I also hear that we have signed Brooks Bollinger to a two year extension after only one practice. Why? This guy was was fourth on the Jets depth chart. Now that is scary.

Well, not so fast.

Jason Carter has been signed to the practice squad after clearing waivers.

A guy with that much speculated talent shouldn't have cleared waivers...

I'd expected the Packers to pick him up. After all, they are looking at Koren.

They're still upset over Darren Sharper though.

The Eagles have one of the worst WR core in the league and we pick up thier scraps????????

I'm not saying carter is the next, well, Cris Carter. But at least he is a warm body that could get some special teams use out of. I doubt Todd will play Sp. And I don't think he cracks our top 3 wr's. Soooo whats the point of getting him?

Same with the Jets. They have a starting QB that hasn't played a full season ever. They are a Horrible team offensively. Yet the Vikes think they can mold thier garbage into art. Nice work.

Big recievers are "IN". Carter isnt one. I like the kids talent but dont know eneough about him to say if it was a good thing or not. I cant believe he cleared and is on the practice squad. Maybe the Vikes pulled a quicky there?

bump give ice reports if you can. just don't go on any ice to give a report, be safe.   I know my 300 acre lake in aitkin froze  over last weekend, but ice depth could vary greatly this time of year.

Anyone know of the lake is froze over? Or how much ice is on the lake if it is?

I’ll be out looking tomorrow... Have a spot in mind that I’m optimistic about. Which direction from downtown were you?

Got the hangers today and really like them. I did have to drill a slot so they would work but easy peasy. The metal can be bent a bit to get the angle wanted. Moved the turkey fans to a different room and centered the 3 euros. I like the way it ended up.     New Age Taxidermy Head Honcho European Mounts on Amazon Smile

The holidays are coming to the Governor’s Residence! Foresters from the Department of Natural Resources and the Conservation Corps of Minnesota harvested the official state Christmas tree Nov. 16 from the Nemadji State Forest. The tree, which is approximately 60 years old, will decorate the Governor’s Residence in St. Paul. “This year’s tree is absolutely gorgeous—tall, full, and almost perfectly shaped,” said Jean Mouelle, the DNR forester who selected this year’s tree. “It’s an impressive example of a balsam fir.” Each year, DNR staff chooses the Governor’s Christmas tree from one of Minnesota’s 59 state forests. Although the tree is always harvested on the Friday before Thanksgiving, the search for the perfect tree begins months beforehand. DNR foresters keep an eye out for a tall tree that’s nicely shaped and well filled out. The tree also needs to be in a location where it will not be damaged when dropped, and where foresters can easily remove it from the forest and load it onto a trailer. The tree will be set up at the Governor’s Residence, 1006 Summit Ave., St. Paul, at 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 19, and lit Monday, Nov. 26. Information about viewing the tree can be found at www.mn.gov/admin/governors-residence/tours/schedule. Half a million Christmas trees are harvested from private tree farms in Minnesota each holiday season, contributing about $30 million to the state’s economy. For each tree harvested, one to three trees are planted. Real Christmas trees provide an environmentally friendly decorating option during the holidays because they store carbon during their lifespan and can be chipped for mulch when the season is over. Should get the hangers today and will post info. I see that mountain Mikes has them also. Built to fit in the hole in back. The ones I ordered are for the bone skull so hopefully, dont have to send them back. Just got Marks done.  16 inch inside. Mine is 15 1/4. Not monsters but pretty neat. Marks biggest so far.

I typically mount with a wire hidden behind the brain cavity routed through holes in the plaque to a screw behind the plaque.   Curious about this angled hanger, it tilts the nose of the skull away from the wall? Do you have a link? I like that idea, might have to rig something up when my euro is ready.

Was around both lakes yesterday and they appear to be locked up. Shouldn't be long now.

I hate when I am walking back to vehicle and they have roosted partway and I didnt know it, then they explode and I freak. LOL

Bow hunting the other day I had a flock of about 20 come in at last light to roost in a nearby tree. No way a deer was going to come in with all that racket! It was kind of odd to see them hop from tree to tree but at the same time cool to see! Graceful and quiet they were not!
