I found a nice 12' alumacraft at
my grandparents place this weekend, but
I could not find a trailer. I've looked
in the classifieds and in the equipment section of the forum and found nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to find a decent, small used trailer for a good price in the Duluth or surrounding area? I sure would like to be able to tow the boat up north here and start working on it. Any help is greatly appreciated! THANKS!

Check with scrap yards and dumps. Sometimes you can find old trailers that just need a few parts replaced for next to nothing. Fleet Farm carries most everything you need at a resonable price too. Otherwise check Ebay and even place an ad that you are looking for a trailer of a specific size.

Im having the same problem. I cant find a trailer for a 14'. I have found a couple but they were junk. That and a topper for a 97 f150 ext. cab are tuff to come by.

I drive by a bunk trailer for sale near St. Cloud on my way to work. Looks like a good older trailer but $450 seems a bit stiff to me. If you're interested, I can stop by and write down the phone number.

Good used trailers are pretty hard to find. I found this site where you can get plans to build your own:

Good Luck! It took me almost 6 years to find one (that was useable) for under $100! I lucked out and found one for $50, it has new lights and wiring, and a new hitch! I have to spend a few bucks for some new rubber, but other than that it is good to go!

You may have to buy an old boat and trailer and sell the boat like I did.

As ifallsron said, used trailer are real hard to find.

I picked up a small 14 foot boat trailer for $125 that I used for a small sailboat. I didn't even have the sailboat sold 10 minutes before my neighbor came around asking about the trailer. I sold it for what I paid for it after using it for four years.

IFallsRon,
Thanks for the offer, but the price is much too high. I guess it's hard to find a small trailer without a boat on top!

I belive Northern Tool sells a very basic small boat trailer, somewhere around $250 - $300...

Northlander:
In my search for a trailer I came across
a guy selling, I believe, a couple trailers for 14'-16'. The ad was in last weekends
budgeteer. I still have the paper and phone number if you want to give it a shot. He told me that the trailers ranged from around $250 or $300 to around $400. A bit expensive, but maybe also quality.

Sorry to piggy back on this one, I am in search of a heavy duty triple axle for a 30' boat for my brother (he's not what you would call comp literate). Used would be nice, we don't even know where to look for new on something of that size. Thoughts?

Cheffrey, try the marinas around here for a trailer that size.
Wormburners a trailer salesmen, he might be able to give you a few leads.

I have a trailer that I used to have my 13 foot boat on. It looks homemade, adjustable to probably 16', new tires, new lights. Pulls real nice. I did catch a nail last year while moving up here so one of the new tires has a plug in it. email me if anyone is interested, gjboomer at yahoo dot com. i'd be glad to help. Only down fall about the trailer is that safety chains were never mounted to the trailer. But that can easily be changed. let me know. Gary
