I read a post that the ticks are out in WI so, the skeeters and the other pests of summer are not far off.
Eating Garlic seems to help but stinks.
I have tried the (Dont laugh) Hartz Flea and tick collars with success wear them aroungd the ankle over the sock.
What does everyone do to keep the bugs away?

When the bugs are REAL bad, I spray my clothes with permethrin (Perma-Kill), which is a contact poison for bugs. I've watched ticks crawl a foot or two up my leg and then just fall off. Haven't had a tick while using this stuff in the last 8-10 years. Also works on the dog - just don't spray where they can lick.
If things are real gnarly, and I'm still getting drilled around the head and neck, it's time for some DEET. If the permethrin and DEET combo doesn't work, you're in deep doo-doo.
Thankfully, I've built up a bit of immunity to mosquitos and sand flies, so even if I get bit there's no swelling or itching.

Several things I have learned over the years in the BW to help with bugs is : wear light colored clothing, easier for you to spot a tick and less likely you look like a hairy northwoods mammal. Blue is the worst for flies and skkeeters. IF swim's are in the order, take a swim right before bedtime as the coolness of your skin prevents the sketters from finding your blood, and your tent. This trick is not only refeshing, but very good at tricking the state bird.
Keep your line tight.
