We will be coming up to the Park Rapids area early next week.

Does Northern Bait have any large (7 - 10 inches) creek chubs on hand?

Jonah,

It was nice to meet you this past week. Thanks for all of your assistance when we were in the store on Tuesday. We did go to Elk Lake in Itasca State Park on Thursday. Didn't see any musky. Fished from about 8:15 until about 3:00. Used spinners throwing towards the shoreline and tried trolling for a while (boys got bored with that). Did catch 3 smaller pike, some rock bass, and one pretty nice perch. My son did have what looked to be a pretty nice large mouth bass but as he got it to the side of the boat it spit the hook.

We actually had pretty good luck on Boot Lake. The fishing was pretty good early in the week with a mixed bag. We did catch 4 keeper walleye, nice sunnies, a few small pike. One of the older boys caught a 4-4.5 lb bass.

We really enjoy the week we spend in the Park Rapids area each year. We have booked the same week next year. Already looking forward to next year but for now it is back to reality and work.

Thanks again,

Al

I was into Northern Tues / Wed / Thurs.

Nice shop you got Jonah.

I didn't meet you, but Tuesday afternoon I ran into Noah.

We were on Big Toad Wed. morning, didn't do much. Wed. evening we fished Fish Hook right in town, along with Thurs. morning, and we caught alot of panfish, a couple of crappies were actually 10+", but that's about it.

Tuesday evening we were on a lake my dad refers to Blueberry, but I've tried to look it up in the DNR's lakefinder and nothing comes up by that name in Hubbard county. I know there's a Blue lake and a Blueberry in a different county, but we're in Hubbard, so I'm not sure what lake it is.

Just a smaller lake down a bunch of country roads up there. Caught many nice crappies 9-10-12".

Anyways, it's about all we fish for, pan fish, since I have a 4 year old with us as well. It's hard to troll crank baits with him.

We were using minnows on colored jigs, trolling in about 14-20' of water, just off the weed line.

Ya Johan it was nice to meet you as well. Park Rapids is luck to have two great bait shops with Northern and Delany's. Picked up some salted shinners and fathead at northern for our trip to Canada a couple weeks back. $15 for a a quart of Shiners and $9 for fatheads. That was the steal of the trip. I think I will always buy salted shiners now as compared to live. I have no idea how many shiners are in a quart but it was ALLOT especially for the price.
