This is probably to late for you but if you are putting in at the boat ramp by the tunnel, I have had success straight across by the little island working the weed line in the middle of the day or in the rushes early and late. Don't know how high the water is as I haven't been up this year but if you can get your boat through, there is a smaller lake on the back side of the big island that has produced good bluegill in the past. I think the name of the lake is Viers. Goodluck.

Little lake is called Venstrom and somethmes Lost Lake. Good for panfih, bass, and northerns. You may have to get out of the boat and push to get through. On really hot summer days, especially if the wind is kicking, I've had some decent luck pulling shad raps for walleyes west of Woodtick Island ( the north island).

Thanks for the replys ......we went out on sunday and the lake was super heavy with recreational boats and jet skis....tried to fish for a while but got sick of being buzzed all the time....headed over to beers and did well withe the bass and panfish.....tried south lida again monday morning before the rain and caught 3 smaller walleyes and a ton of rock bass.

Venstrom is a little jewel of South Lida. My wife and I often fish it for sun fish and have great luck. You will even find some very nice crappies back in there. The big plus for Venstrom is the fact that the vast majority of recreational boaters/jet skiers don’t bother to come back in there. It has been a few weeks since I have been there...but the last trip I could drift thru the little opening with the big motor up and my electric trolling motor doing all the work. I tried getting thru once last year with the big motor..not sooo smart....as it plugged the water intake. Lesson learned.

It is  pretty shiny piece of equipment. I was able to purchase it on my scab job wages 😆 I don't think I'll update the electronics any time soon, 3 screens is enough?

Just another "Words matter"   Voting on school levy. This was posted on the School "education district" building door.  We had a nice cold walk all the way around the building! The arrow was added, after we educated them! 😒

Obviously this is more of a hot topic due to forward facing sonar. With that being said, I know people who have pulled crappies out of basins 40+ deep since the fl-8 and zercom flashers came out. That's over 30 years ago. I do think there's a push to ban these in MN and I could see them doing it here. They'll have to pay my livescope from my cold dead hands 😆 on days I can't catch a walleye jigging or rigging it's nice to turn it on and throw corks at individual fish

It wasn't just you, I was fishing west of you about an hour on Monday. Fished 8am-4pm, no fish, two keeper walleye and one small one from 4pm-630pm. Marked a lot of fish, they would come up to a jig and swim away. They were skittish to the dead stick too

I wonder like divers, if we let them decompress every 10' for 1/2hr. If that would help?  🤔  It would slow the bite down a bit!  🤭
