Trying to figure out a way to mount a transducer on my bow mounted trolling motor. Anybody have any ideas and will the electric currents put interference on the graph?>>later the load

There is s kit you can buy with a bracket and a large hose clamp. You can get it at most sporting goods stores.

Yep you'll need the strap on mount. Theres a couple different styles depending on what transducer you have.
You shouldn't get any interference by mounting your transducer on the motor. In some cases you can pick up interference if you use the same battery for the 2.

Just a thought, but try calling the customer service of the depth finder manufacturer to get their thoughts on the compatability of the transducer to the electrical output of the trolling motor. Perhaps contact the trolling motor company to get the specs on what it outputs while running. I know some depth finder companies list that you should not run your transducer cables along or transecting any other power source. Whether that's a bit of mumbo jumbo or not, I'm just a mere mortal, not an electrical genius....yet.
I think one of the newer trolling motors from some company(Minnkota?) comed with a built in transducer, that you can get an adapter to plug into your depth finder. That's not what you're asking about, but it makes you think that its definitely a possibility.
I have seen them strapped to other's motors with a small bracket, held on by a large hose clamp, as mentioned by esoxmn.
Either way, sounds like a fun project. Let us know how it turns out.

loadmaster,
If you have a lowrance/eagle graph you can just take a pair of pliers and bend the steel piece normally used to attach it to the transom, to fit the round bottom of a TM. Then just take a regular hose clamp and run it thru the slots and attach it to the TM. I did this last year with an eagle ultra. Just watch the wiring to make sure its out of the way of the blade. You can use either plastic ties or electrical tape to attach to the lower assembly and top of shaft. I didnt get any interference running it that way, but i would suggest not running it off the TM battery if possible. have heard of some interference issues from others.

Load, I did the same thing as Xplorer just explained, worked great. The tricky part is just watch your cable as you lower and raise the bowmount so it doesn't get pinched. I used a combination of elec. tape and Zip ties for the cable, hose clamps for transducer. Use separate battery to run the unit or you will get interference. Good luck and good fishing.
