For what its worth I fished for about an hour on Sunday. It was the first time I ever fish B.E. in the summer and was in a buddy's boat that is not a fishing boat. The wind was blowing pretty good so I picked a wind blown point and made a couple passes just drifting. Using a white spinnerbait with gold blades ended up with two, 14 AND 17 INCH. I tried to pay attention to depth and they both came right on the breakline. Not sure if there was a weedline associated with it or not as his depth finder is just that only a depth finder. Good Luck.

Hit it two weekends ago and did GREAT on large walleye. REAL large. Kept three 22" (4 of us) and let three bigger go back. 10-12' on leeches. They hammered the bait!

Also tried for bass on the Sunday, and did okay on small ones. Pitching jigs or senkos at docks. Didn't get any bass out on the weed flats or weed edges, but they all came right at/under the docks.

Brother was out this last weekend and got some small walleyes, and he tried for musky a bit, but went back to walleye pretty quick smile.gif

It was pretty darned good.

Box - You did not mention the one crash of lightning that ran your brother and me off at 6:30 AM on Sunday. It was a race to see which of the three boats on the lake could get back to the ramp faster. That just about scared the @#$$ out of me. We only managed one small walleye in the rain on Sunday. I fished Lake of the Isles on Sunday afternoon and had a hard time getting any fish out of the weeds or around the dead bodies.

Ha! Yeah, he did mention you both got real big eyes at the same time! shocked.gif

I got 19" smallie at the cabin, and a bunch of little LMB and crappies were still biting up there, but they always are. Saw some big smallies, but if I can see them, they can see the old pontoon and get spooked.

WHat time were you out catching the Walleye? I was out after the small storm we had on Saturday, had a few bites but nothing substantial.

That third boat was mine! I hid under that picnic thing for awhile and then kept at it. Did't do any good. You guys were smart to leave.

Scared the crap out of me. Never seen anything like it.

What happened? lighting strike the lake or something...?

Didn't hit the lake but it hit ground somewhere pretty close by. Front moved in, no thunder in the distance, no lightning, then all of a sudden a huge cloud to ground strike right on top of us.

I hit the BEagle with a friend wednesday with our main target being muskies. I missed one musky that hit my hellhound (I think I may have been a little quick with the hookset, pulled it away from him). We also managed to get 3 other pike about 3-4 lbs.

Later in the evening we figured we would use up the leeches I had from another trip. We fished midlake humps but turned up zero walleyes. Just a few bite offs and lots of bait stealing panfish.

I also ran into Slyster of FM. It was good meeting you. How did you do on the bass?

Very slow.. I picked up a buddy, and we fished bass... mainly caught smaller bass around all the grass islands that litter the lake.. both with spinnerbaits and senkos.. perhaps 6 or 7 bass each. One decent bonus pike.. 22"

Always fun to meet a "username" as a real person!

Yeps, was out on Bald Eagle yesterday morning and did real well with bass... I fished shallow very early in the AM hours, then after 9 30 am, fished deep for bass and did really well.....

So Mid.. share your lures and depths etc..? smile.gif I fished it again today for bass.. and only caught 3 in five hours. Mostly tubes and senkos... docks, pads, deep, shallow you name it.

Was also out today, and didn't have much luck with the bass. We picked up a couple, nothing with any size. I too am a fan of the stick worm, but it just didn't produce today. I did, however, manage three walleye out of one spot that I pulled up to for some attempted bassin. All three came on a firetiger rattlin' rapala. I was quite surprised, but it was a very nice treat.

I have been out there a lot this year, mostly chasing walleyes - my bro is the one who posted about the morning a couple weeks ago with the biggies. I've found that anywhere you can finds rocks that are a little deeper than the weedline (about 9-11 feet) fish a jig and grub or carolina rig an you can do pretty well. I found this by catching so many on the Lindy rigs we were pulling for walleyes. The weekend of the 4th I actually ancored on a rock pile in deeper water and pulled quite a few fish by casting all around the boat. It was easier to anchor and stay on the spot than to keep circling it with the trolling motor. Also, caught a decent northern doing this. Haven't really found muskies yet but haven't spent a lot of time at it this year. good luck.

It is  pretty shiny piece of equipment. I was able to purchase it on my scab job wages 😆 I don't think I'll update the electronics any time soon, 3 screens is enough?

🤣 not near as shiny and spendy as that livescope toy. Thats kinda like bling ain't it? besides i'm on a paultry union pension  🫣

I mean to catch pike you just need a shiny object...

Just another "Words matter"   Voting on school levy. This was posted on the School "education district" building door.  We had a nice cold walk all the way around the building! The arrow was added, after we educated them! 😒

I don't need no livescope to catch fish....🤔🤪  It's all in how ya wiggle the worm!😜 Just sayin  🤣

Obviously this is more of a hot topic due to forward facing sonar. With that being said, I know people who have pulled crappies out of basins 40+ deep since the fl-8 and zercom flashers came out. That's over 30 years ago. I do think there's a push to ban these in MN and I could see them doing it here. They'll have to pay my livescope from my cold dead hands 😆 on days I can't catch a walleye jigging or rigging it's nice to turn it on and throw corks at individual fish

It wasn't just you, I was fishing west of you about an hour on Monday. Fished 8am-4pm, no fish, two keeper walleye and one small one from 4pm-630pm. Marked a lot of fish, they would come up to a jig and swim away. They were skittish to the dead stick too

I wonder like divers, if we let them decompress every 10' for 1/2hr. If that would help?  🤔  It would slow the bite down a bit!  🤭
