Since when did Ottertail County take over as tornado alley?

I called Dad to find out how things were, and he said everything was fine. Heck he didnt even know there was a tornado warning. As I talked to him, I could hear the hail start up. It covered the ground completely in 2-3 minutes. Nothing huge, but geezus.

Anyway, no damage to speak of. Thank goodness.

Hope it was nothing more than an overblown report on the news.

Everything is fine from BL to Vining since I chatted with ya. Thank goodness...reports of "confirmed tornado by law enforcement in the Dead Lake area" were not true after further confirmation by sheriff's dept, etc.

Also heard on the radio tornado was spotted near Battle Lake heading east towards Clitherall. Not true. confused.gif

Cool. I was just going to call you.

Talked to Gramps on the south end of Clitherall, and he got tons of hail, tons of rain, and some real strong winds. No damage there. He said it looked and sounded real bad to the SE of him. Dad was headed to the farm south of Vining before dark to see if anything happened in that area.

Wow. Too close for comfort. I was worried we were going on year number 4 in a row with major damage of some sort up there.

Hope everyone has similar info that damage is at a minimum.

Everything good around Underwood. My wife said there were some funny looking clouds that were roiling and twisting, but did not appear to be a wall cloud forming either.

Brother in law south of BL rode it out in a tractor, maybe .2 inches of rain, but nothing violent.

The radar return on that storm looked pretty wicked.

I was talking to my dad when it rolled through. It looked nasty according to him, they even went to the basement.

I am waiting for the pictures of the hail covering the ground. The good thin is there was no damage. I dont need to bring my work close up with me this weekend.

I was watching TV and channel 5 was the only station to have the severe weather thing on their screen. At the bottom it scrolled something like "confirmed tornado spotted at Dead Lake heading south towards Clitherall". The first thing to come to mind was "crap", and the second thought was "this thing must be real, cuz I think that's the first time I've ever seen the word Clitherall on TV". I waited for a little bit and called home. Mom said everything was fine. Had some rain and the satellite went out for a little bit, but that was about it.

Merc,

I just got back to the bar from shooting and looked up to see the #5 having Henning on the map, then noticed EBL and saw the cells. I called my folks and got a play by play.

The ticker kept scrolling and listing Henning, Battle Lake and even Vining...

Same thing got me going too Merc.

Never have I seen Clitherall on TV. I thought that had to be a bad sign.

I think we all ought to meet up at the Sportsman's Bar on Saturday night and have a toast to mother nature for sparing Ottertail County this time around. grin.gif

I might wander down to Clitherall if I can get back from my road trip in time.

Big shindig in Underwood this weekend. 125th anniversery of the town, and an all-school reunion.

Live band Saturday night (cant remember the name) at the old ball park, and Johnny Holm is playing there Sunday night.

Wow! I better tell the wife that Johnny Holm is playing at Underwood Sunday night. She loves that band. We'll have to talk Grandma into babysitting so we can have a night out on the town in Underwood!

there was still hail from last night piled behind the shop at work (in DL) this morning at 1130am. WE had marble sized hail at my house. No damage thankfully. I was heading back from the Otter Tail River last night going 65mph on Hwy 10 when the hail hit. I was expecting a big spider across the windshield....
