Trout Lake

Fellow Fmers, anyone have a report on Trout? Heading in Tues for 3 night, will drag a canoe and fish Orinack too. Any info appreciated. Also what time does the truck portage open?

I have not heard any reports from Trout. Sorry!

The portage hours that I have are:

7am to 11am

3pm to 7pm

After Aug. 1

7am to 10am

4pm to 7pm

People are pretty tight lipped about Trout so Im not gonna try and make enemies...Im going in for 3 days will be back monday night....I can shoot you an email.

Just returned from 4 days on Trout. The bite on Trout has slowed. We managed some walleyes every day we fished Trout but we certainly did not slay them. Everyone we talked to were getting a few fish. The average size of the fish was very nice. Leeches were the preferred bait.

We went into Oriniak one day and had the worst day I have ever had in 10+ years of fishing that lake. Three of us managed 4 walleyes... Very slow. Oriniack is usually our "for sure" lake.

We also went into Little Trout and casted for pike and bass. Had an incredible day. Didn't keep track but I bet the three of us caught at least 50 fish.
