Well I am currently beached. I noticed the other day when putting my cover on that my Transom is BROKEN, yes actually broken right down the middle. It is the darndest thing. Now I am going to have to figure out a way to fix it. Any one have any ideas? here is what I have. ALuminum boat 16ft in length. Not real deep it is a 79 bluefin boat. On the back sits a late 80s evinrude 40hp with power trim and tilt. were it mounts o the back of the boat is metal on the outside and wood on the inside. It is capped together with a piece metal. the only thing not damaged is the aluminum shell. But there is a definate wobble were the motor is. I think I will probably be able to lift the motor up and install a steel plate the width of the boat on the inside then run some bolts throught it to hold.

ANy Suggestions would be great.

I'm not sure what you mean by "broken down the middle". I do know aluminum is a bit more difficult to weld or repair than other metals. A few years back, the wood inside my transom rotted making it very unstable and unusable as it would not support my motor. I took it to Brad's welding in Fergus. He removed the rotted wood and welded in reinforcement rods and it is now stronger than when I bought it. I can't remember the price but can remember thinking it was very reasonable. Brad has a good reputation of fixing aluminum. Check him out. # should be in the yellow pages.
