Question

Something seems to be wrong with the carburator linkage. Everything looks good but one can't throttle down the engine fast or it dies and when you go fast you have to take it slow. Would there be a place to maybe buy a new carb for this engine?? Thanks in advance. Dan

I don't think its a linkage problem. You can buy a carb kit. Bring the serial number of the outboard to a dealer and they'll order you the parts. I have a feeling your problem lies somewhere else then the carb though. Before I go any further have you changed the spark plugs?

Changed plugs and also did do a carb kit. I thought that would take care of the problem. Guess I'll just keep narrowing things down. Thanks.

I suspect either low compression or a bad crank seal.
