Just got back from a grerat weekend camping in Voyagers. We camped on Sandpoint in Browns bay. Had a great time as always. Didn't slay the fish, but we managed to bring in a few nice eater size walleyes, some nice sized gills and enough northerns to round out the bag so that we could feed everyone (12 people) with a big fish fry last night. Weather was pretty good, windy yestreday but otherwise it was a pretty awsome weekend. Worst thing that happened was my 30.00 rain jacket was blown away in a storm last night.

I want to go up for an entire week next time.

Never camped up there can you tell me how busy it is on the campsites and are they fairly nice? I am looking at going up mid august on Kabetogama.

Thanks for the info!

Slayer,

I'm not a camper but we use the campsites from time to time for shore lunch and in mid-August I think you can safely assume that the campsites will be busy. The park becomes more and more popular each year and the traffic at the campsites has really increased. However, you aren't limited to the campsites and there are lots of "unofficial" sites that are great. If the normal spots are full, just look around on the islands and you will find some great spots.

any campsite numbers you can recommend? Doesn't really matter if it on Kab or Namakan for that matter. My Kids want a place to swim also...I might be too picky

Thanks!

Slayer, remember the sites are first come first serve, no reservations, so sometimes you have to take what you can get. One of my favorite places in Kab is the Lost Bay sites and in Namakan the Wolf PackIsland sites. good luck guts

Slayer,

I will second the Wolfpack idea. My wife, 4 kids and I camped on the eastern most wolfpack this past weekend and the kids had a great time. Sandy beach and great camp site. The fishing around that immediate area wasn't great, but with 4 kids 8 and under I really didn't fish that hard. Caught 8 really nice smallies and a couple of pike but no eyes. Had a great time though. I can't wait to get back!

Slay73,The wolf pack islands are nice sites, one other thing to think about is wind/waves.I have

had my boat swamped over night on shore before. Here are some numbers for sites,n38,n27,non numbered site southside of point at n27,n10 on fox island is rocky but it has a great veiw of the lake.If you stay here, bring xtra rope so you can tie your boat off in the small bay from shore to shore.Works great during storms.....hope this helps some..c63

It is  pretty shiny piece of equipment. I was able to purchase it on my scab job wages 😆 I don't think I'll update the electronics any time soon, 3 screens is enough?

🤣 not near as shiny and spendy as that livescope toy. Thats kinda like bling ain't it? besides i'm on a paultry union pension  🫣

I mean to catch pike you just need a shiny object...

Just another "Words matter"   Voting on school levy. This was posted on the School "education district" building door.  We had a nice cold walk all the way around the building! The arrow was added, after we educated them! 😒

Obviously this is more of a hot topic due to forward facing sonar. With that being said, I know people who have pulled crappies out of basins 40+ deep since the fl-8 and zercom flashers came out. That's over 30 years ago. I do think there's a push to ban these in MN and I could see them doing it here. They'll have to pay my livescope from my cold dead hands 😆 on days I can't catch a walleye jigging or rigging it's nice to turn it on and throw corks at individual fish

It wasn't just you, I was fishing west of you about an hour on Monday. Fished 8am-4pm, no fish, two keeper walleye and one small one from 4pm-630pm. Marked a lot of fish, they would come up to a jig and swim away. They were skittish to the dead stick too

I wonder like divers, if we let them decompress every 10' for 1/2hr. If that would help?  🤔  It would slow the bite down a bit!  🤭
