FRESHWATER PETIE

St. Croix east of Rush city

FRESHWATER PETIE

Has anyone Shore fished the St. Croix river east of Rush city. I was planning to try it this spring, early summer. I live near Cambridge, so it is close to my home.

I have fished the St.Croix, near the Hwy 70 bridge many times. I like the St. Croix for it's multi species fishery. I have mostly fished from the WI side, Soderbeck landing, Hwy 70 bridge, Rasberry landing, and O landing. When I was a kid, growing up near Frederic Wi, Some buddies and I would boat out to a island north of Rasberry landing. We would set up camp with a big bonfire, and fish all night watching the ends of our fish poles for bites, the rods we could'nt see from the camp fire had bells attached to them. The fishing was always great!! I got alot of fond memories of shore fishing th St. Croix!! laugh.gif

Petie, if you need some company for a trip, let me know. I've never fished it but live near it in Sunrise. We could take my canoe and put in east of Rush City and float down to the Wild River State Park landing, fishing along the way.

The St Croix over there is a blast to fish!

Check out the fishing report, there are great shore fishing spots at Frandsens landing, the Ferry landing, and the old rail road bridge landing!

I fished there this past weekend! At the Old Railrod bridge or park...or whatever that place was. The old railroad something. But it was ok. Caught a few cats with liver and smallmouths on cranks. Saw lots of dead fish....looked like someone was cutting up suckers for bait. We camped there for the weekend. Nice place...pretty ok action. Not too consistant though. You can try your luck.
