Speaking of campers... I heard on the news this morning that the public camp grounds on BS will be closed this year. Along with 3 or 4 more throughout the state, due to costs.

Best of Luck to everybody. The GF and I broke up so I won't be tackling BS this year.

I think I can feel the wind in my face as I round the corner in the narrows to make it out into the main lake.

A quick scan of the sand bar tells me people are swimming!

My mind dazes off to think how many people are down at the rope swing!

Ahhh lets chase a few walleys in fishermans first!......

Ya. Really.. We're up there all the time and hardly ever see bikinis. (ones worth looking at that is!).. Where is the best "viewing area". tongue.giftongue.gif

Some years back, we had the Women On Water party come cruising by on a double decker pontoon. That was an interesting site.

I believe the hog hunting farm is called Ridge Hunting Preserve, it is east of Little Falls the phone number is 320-745-2337 I know people who have hunted up there in the past and had a good time. They said the hogs were running wild in a 20 or 40 acre fenced area but it is not usually easy to get one but there is a high success rate if you have the time to work the area. I am going to confirm the location/name and will probably hunt there this year. Russian Boar are supposed to be pretty tasty and there are meat processors near by to drop the hog off at.

I went out after the wind died down. Caught 23 with a mix of eyes and saugers.  12 to 15”   With no slots. Fished 12 to 27’.

For Vermilion, the Lowrance lake insight data is identical to Lakemaster, 3 foot contours.

Maybe you should check the various sites that sell mapping stuff?   What is the Lowrance offering?   Is there a different Navionics choice?

You're correct trumy.  I just posted this on that page.  Thank you.

Hi everyone, I will be heading to Echo Lake, in the superior national Forest, the middle of June.  Never been there, but the small amount I found on this site says it's a good fishing lake.  Does anyone have past experience on this lake?  I'm targeting walleye mostly, but Pike and crappie are always on my menu.  Are there any lure colors that have worked well for you?  I'm mostly a live bait fisherman.  Any presentations that worked well?  Any advice will be greatly appreciated with this lake, and I will report back how it went/what worked.  Thank you everyone.

May want to post this in the BWCA, Duluth.... regional forum.  You may get more responses there as that's the area the lake is in.   Goid Luck!
