Fishing Pine Island on March 18th

Recommended Posts

I just got back from fishing LOW, right on the other side of pine island, I talked to other people around me and they said that they had a hard time catching fish, However i was able to limit out on walleye's but when i went out to deeper water, i could not find any saugers, i was able to have a fish fry on friday and still get my limit on saturday, i ended up with limits of walleyes but only 3 saugers, not to bad considering what other people were saying. I am sure the bite will pick up as the weather gets warmer.

Hill: Thanks for the report. I'm headed up on Wed afternoon for a couple of days. Hopefully some stable weather will help by that time. Bill

Hill,

Thanks for the report. I did hear some similar word from others. How deep and what times were you finding the eyes?

What kind of presentation was working if you had a trend?

Thanks again.

I was in 18FOW and was just jigging, it was weird though, they were hugging the bottom and you could bring it up 3 feet and they would come up and nail it, other times i would have the jig in front of their face they wouldnt bite, mostly from 6 to about 10 and then from 3 to 6 were the best times, i would definatly recommend a ATV or snowmobile, it is hard to get off the beaten paths with a truck.

Snow?  Yeah I finally ran into some today.     And I HAD to get them on the tailgate! 😅   And that is one of the reasons to leave that stuff in MN for a little while.  😎

Wow, I am certainly getting beat up over on this side of the fence today.  On month old posts and mostly by the mods oddly. ☹️

It is definitely getting down to the wire. I want to try and get out one more time if possible! I love ice fishing, but the fall bite has been hot.

Be careful on public land traps tend to disappear. Don’t set the traps in the open and make another path to check your traps. With duck season going on use traps that will not hold dogs. I like setting banks with mink attractor or 220’s set in rat runs.
