Morris Pt Report?

A few of us are heading to LOW - Morris Point this coming weekend (17-20). Just wondering if anyone has any reports from that area from recent they'd be willing to share. What do all you LOW experts think about the cold front - will it affect fishing positively or negatively? Anything would be appreciated.

Fishing has been slow all over this year. We have our house out of Morris Point in 28' feet of water. We caught 9 last friday, 5 on saturday, and 3 on Sunday. Most of the fish were caught on long shank plain hooks and enough wait that the bobber just barely floats. Most fish were hitting light and wouldn't touch it if you were jigging. Good luck this weekend. We will be up again this weekend with a few guys from Iowa.

hey softball i have made 4 trips this year and fishing has been tough. you will do better if you move around and change baits.start in around 10 to 12 ft. fish there untill about 9am then move out past all the houses if you can and get away from the crowd. if you have a vex use it!! will catch move fish.work them off thee bottom, they will come up a long way, and then bite.good luck, and tell jody the bartender, that pig said hi!! she knows me!!

Thanks for the reports guys. We were up 5-6 times last winter and always caught fish -- this will be the first trip this season - we've had it planned for months. We are using a friends house where it sits - but may bring a portable for some mobility as you said. The vex's will be charged and ready to go. We realize it's been slow, but it's either go and hope to catch something or stay home - the decision is really pretty easy! grin.gif I'll try and remember to mention you in the lodge -- hey they still got that shrimp special on Saturday nights????Mmmmm!

Just dont quit too early. They may not bite till after 5 but eventualy they will bite in the afternoon. You see too many people leaving when they are finally starting to bite. And dont forget the morning bite.Drill your holes early, 6am.Lots of pike action coming throo in the afternoon.
