Rumor about Fine on zumbro

Ive heard a few rumors about that you can get fined for drivng on the zumbro. Personally i was out there on friday and got checked by the conservation officer and he said nothing about a fine. I think if u go onto a lake and dump ur truck or car through thats your own fault for being out there to early. Is this rumor have any facted is it just fiction to try and scare people away.

The only time you will get fined is if the entire lake has been closed to vehicle traffic by an order from the DNR or the Sheriffs department. If you dump a vehickle of any kind in the drink, you are responsible for all charges to remove it, pay any fines involved and pay for any environmental clean-up needed as a result of your dropping it thru the ice. Insurance companies, by the way, don't pay for accidentd or drop thru's....you'll be on your own.
