Anyone know someone in the area up here that does spray in foam insulation?

I have a fishhouse I want to get the inside of sprayed.

WT, if you call Ballards Resort and talk to Merwin he'll be able to point you in the right direction. I'm not sure if they do that in-house or hire it out. Either way, Merwin will know the scoop. 218-634-1849

WT: Give Adrain's a call, they have someone locally do it for them.. Ask for Marlene or Brian.. 218 634 1985 They add houses every year and foam then before being painted... Kaz smile.gif

Is that smoke coming out of the top? shocked.gif So the "Widetrack Shack" has made it to the Internet. What a fine looking setup. grin.gif

You know darn well what's coming out of the stack...

Northern Mn, did all the custom work. A very fine job I might add..

You only think you are portable till you have one of these babies. Moving is a matter of reeling up, and starting the sled... Heat is on when you get there.

Sleep in there? Heck yeah. Couple of different places. Cook coffee, venison etc...

4 sliding windows... It's going to double as a deer blind in the NW Angle swamp up on a platform...

Other side... the rest is going to be left up to your imagination... You will have to track me down sometime to see the rest...

I passed a guy hauling a shack like this in the bed of his truck when I was on my way to LOW, near Warroad. Maybe it was you Widetrack? grin.gif

Interesting shack for sure!

The guy that does the spraying for Riverbend spends his

summers at Warroad, I think out of Springsteel. Call

Charlie at Riverbend, he should know. (Glen will know

for sure).

Nice fishhouse. Just when you think you have seen it all.

Just for the record, fire in a plastic shack still seem like a questionable idea. tongue.gif Yeah, I have never fished out of anything more portable than the Widetrack Shack. If nothing else you can attract lots of attention with it. Everybody does a double take when they see it.

WT: How do you secure the holes when traveling?? It looks like the bottom acts as a sled, but don't the holes contact the underbelly and wouldn't snow push hard on the hole covers???? Looks great and be sure to "copy write" the design, or the "Big Boys" will copy your invention smile.gif.. Kaz

1/2 the hole cover has a 6 inch piece of steel plate attached to it that rides tight against the bottom of the sled. Then on the top it has a piece that secures the top... Sort of hard to explain in words. It works great though. The bottom is a overgrown otter shaped sled with wicked big hifax installed.

The whole thing is made of of 3/8 inch polyethylene.

I purchased the shack from Canada so no patents here...

My friend Chris could have a hit new TV show though.

"Pimp My Shack"... He did lots of custom work to it.

Yeah, I am going to pitch it to the Outdoor Network. Take an average fish house and add 100% redneck! Has instant hit written all over it. wink.gif

Just wait until we convert that thing into a deer stand for fall hunting... You ain't seen nothing yet. grin.gif

Widetrack..

I know of an older fellow that does it on Springsteel Is. He sprayed my roof a couple of years ago and it's holding well. The guy's name is Billy Bowman, but I don't know how you'd get a hold of him this time of the year, best would be to maybe call Philo at Springsteel. Interesting shack to say the least. We built a new model this year as well, you'd have to stop by the 16 to check it out. Hope this helps!!

Chuckn: Yeah, Must have been me, I highly doubt there is another one around...

Reefer: Thanks. Not sure I'll be back to 16 anytime soon.

That place has given me the cold shoulder this year... Would like to see your new shack sometime though.

Nope, not there anymore.  Just don’t get up there enough anymore.  Sadly.   Taxes are cheap enough to not really worry about and still have it.     smurf does the pissin’.  I wouldn’t do a thing like that to good furniture. 😉

Funny, my wife and I drove by Big Rice on our way to Grand Rapids. I pointed to the launch and said, somewhere there's an old rotting couch in there, two clowns 🤡🤡 on the forum keep joking each other about pissing on. She said gross! Cuz that's what guys talk about on forums! 😆😅🤣

You can still fish Mille Lacs during the closure from July 1-15.  You just can't specifically target a walleye or use live bait.  There's plenty of smallmouth bass and pike in the lake that you can target with artificial lures and you might get lucky with a muskie.   The wind can be an issue out there though.  If that doesn't sound appealing to you, try the Rum River.  There is an access in Kathio State Park that would work well for a kayak.  You could go upstream and downstream from there too.   I think you will need to purchase a daily pass to use that access in the park (it might be like 5 bucks).  I haven't fished there in years but I fish the Rum River further downstream every season and the fishing in there is fantastic during midsummer.  Look for current breaks, seams, and deeper holes.

Sorry I didn't see your post earlier. Glad your place was ok. Lake Country power said they had 20 poles toppled in one area!

You still have your trailer and place up there? Maybe you should do some summer rentals of it to help pay the taxes and up keep on it? 👍

The water is starting to slowly go down. From what I can tell it looks like it’s down about 5-6 inches. The wind was terrible over the weekend though. I’m sure many properties suffered damages with Sundays winds. Things are finally starting to head in the right direction but it’s going to take a very long time for things to get back to even somewhat normal.

Stopped at VC last week as well.  Didn't have pizza, but the sandwiches and appetizers we had were good.  The service was very good.  However, that's the first and only time we had been there.
