how has the luck been with these at night? Are they effective? Or am I better off just sleeping? or getting my normal 4 hours of sleep for the weekend? I did buy the Rod Rocker 2's.

thanks-

Caught a 24 and a 27 1/2 using the rattle reel over night this year. I would suggest using them.

Our house hasnt had good luck on rattles this year. I did get a 24.5 Sat night at 5:30 on one. Med Shiner was the trick on a plain red hook.

Bronco,

The only walleyes I got last weekend were on rattle wheels after I had gone to sleep. They bit were I was at from 10pm to 11:30pm and only one night of the two there. I had a large one on and lost it, catch a 26, 27, and 18. Obviously, only took one home, but it did taste good. smirk.gif I was using medium gold shiners on a plain kahle hook and a slip bobber with just enough weight that the shiner could bob it under the water but not keep it there.

I had gotten a couple each weekend night between 10pm-1am, up to two weeks ago, then they just shut off.. might pick up here though. :-> trick i learned is.. remove the line from the rattlewheel (or tie it up), use a pole with a slip bobber and wrap the line around the rattlewheel three times(starting from the hole end, and wrapping counter-clockwise) and leave the spool to the pole open.. when a fish hits, the rattle wheel will spin, you can easily (most times) un-wrap the line from the rattle wheel (three clockwise unwraps ) and "oh..son..." use the pole to set-er and bring 'er in..

has there been any luck with the rattle reels? and sorry not trying to control the board, just having a hard time getting a hold of dickie's resort. got a little info out of Scenic, but did not feel they were to happy to deal with me. could have just been a bad day there maybe?

Thansk-

I heard recently the water level had gone down some. Sound like folks are re really dealing with a mess.    Fishing pictures look like a good year in that regard.   Hope the property loss isn't terrible but seems bad.   Bill

Yesterday was a grind to find bigger fish but we landed a few. Only 3 fish overall but they were all nice fish, all C&R. I do believe the sunfish are out of the shallows besides small ones. Thursday I took the nephews out and didn't see any on beds.

Glad you keep coming back, Mark. And glad you still know the way to catch a slew of walleyes. I wish i could’ve learned more while you were here. But I appreciate all the information you provide on what worked for you.  Strange year. We just got part of our dock in and our boat. I fished a couple hours this morning for the first time on a Frazer hump you know and caught ten under 12” and one keeper which I released… a nice 26+“. I’m hoping more to come soon. I hope all is well with you, Dick

Maybe the bamboozler will end up being like every fish story, some old timers holding their hands out as wide as possible to demonstrate to a youngster just how big it was....

Fished a bigger lake, fish or at least the eaters are on the mid lake humps. Water Temps 68 degrees, freezer now has 6 total as I've been eating fish often. Tomorrow we chase the 30" walleye for catch and release.
