Vexilar vs Marcum

I have always used a Vexilar FL-18 and probably wouldn't be able to stand a flasher without a zoom. Does anyone what the differences are between the Marcums and the Vexilars, and just to throw another name in there, the Lowrance digital flashers? I am looking for something a little less expensive than the FL-18, but has similar properties. Any thoughts would be fantastic

Thundercluck - Similar to the FL-18 would be the Cabela's VXR and Gander GSX and if you want the larger 10' zoom window and more power the LX-2. There are still LX-3's available at very good prices if your lucky you can still find the LX-3's for anywhere from $270 to $300. Check the sales section in the general forum.

You're probably better off keeping your FL18. Unless you can sell it at a good price.

Then....

If you were making a decision between buying a new FL18 or another the Cabelas VXR and the Gander GSX have the same features with 200 more watts of power. The MarCum LX2 has the same features even more power a 10' zoom window option and a water resistant case.

If your serious, throw your Vex up on Ebay. I sold my FL-8se with the original box and all the paper work a few weeks ago for $280 plus shipping.

I am considering something other than an FL18 because my brothers and I went in on the FL18 a couple of years ago and I am tired of sharing it. I can't afford to buy one on my own, but if there is a comparable flasher out there for a better price I would consider it. I guess, if I do purchase a Marcum and am not happy with it, I've always got ebay! Thanks for the responses.
