Anyone catching any decent panfish on prior? I got my house out on spring and that has really shut down the past few days. caught some ok sunnies in naycies cove on saturday but that is an awful far walk from the access and i dont always have access to a four wheeler. I know there is a lot of houses off sportsmans access, but don't know how theye are doing. I was thinking about trying to move to the deep hole on the east side of the island off sportsmans access for some crappies.

On and off, I had thought myself about moving until I had a decent night Mon night. Worth a shot dragging a portable out and trying it, the pack north of the Sandpoints access is anywhere from 20-30' deep, and I'm at 24'. Just don't trust the ice for driving; sleds and quads only for now. Good Luck! McGurk

Group of 7 were out this last weekend, in the 22-25 foot region northeast of the island. Just about where all the permanants were last winter. Needless to say, we have never, and I mean never had a better weekend fishing....one of the guys quit for about 45 minutes because he was actually tired of catching fish.....deeper is better than shallow, we at one point had a house at 23 feet, one at 18 and one at 15 and tip ups in 10....the house in 23 feet was constant fish, we in the 18 foot house were hot and cold, and the ones in the 15 foot depth house we drinking all the beer. definately go to the area where the usual permanant house city is, they aren't there now.....steer clear of the crowds. This should help,

Any chance you could shoot me an email with some details on presentaion or times? Just had a newborn and my time on the ice is pretty limited. Have been fishing some other lakes close by though and would love to share some info if you like. BTW I live right by fongs in Prior.

Panfish and snakes where I'm at. Another OK night last night, but my LX3 needs servicing and I'll be lost without it! Good Luck! McGurk

McGurk - if you are sending your flasher back to Marcum, send along an extra $49 and they will upgrade your flasher to the LX-3tc. I just bought my LX-3 this year and am waiting a little longer to send it in for the upgrade.

Thanks for the thought, and I'm way ahead of you. I've got the money order and the RA and I've just got to send it in, and then I'll be in 3-color-glee mode. Good Luck, McGurk

Were you fishing someplace else besides the sportsmans access bay? I want to take my daughter out tomorrow to find a little panfish action. If you don't want to say anything on here you can email me at: [email protected]

Ludlows and Muskego both hit hard.  The Dayton place had a lot of big trees down, not sure of structural damage.  Some say a tornado skipped thru that area.  Looking at the destruction, I could believe it.  I feel bad for those impacted by this storm.   Below are a few snap shots of common sights around the area a day or two after the storm.

Mike, was there a lot of damage in the Ely area?

Drove through Annandale last Tuesday and was really bummed to still only see the old cement slab at Little Jim's. Hope they can get it built-back-better! 🙂

I heard recently the water level had gone down some. Sound like folks are re really dealing with a mess.    Fishing pictures look like a good year in that regard.   Hope the property loss isn't terrible but seems bad.   Bill

Yesterday was a grind to find bigger fish but we landed a few. Only 3 fish overall but they were all nice fish, all C&R. I do believe the sunfish are out of the shallows besides small ones. Thursday I took the nephews out and didn't see any on beds.

Glad you keep coming back, Mark. And glad you still know the way to catch a slew of walleyes. I wish i could’ve learned more while you were here. But I appreciate all the information you provide on what worked for you.  Strange year. We just got part of our dock in and our boat. I fished a couple hours this morning for the first time on a Frazer hump you know and caught ten under 12” and one keeper which I released… a nice 26+“. I’m hoping more to come soon. I hope all is well with you, Dick

Maybe the bamboozler will end up being like every fish story, some old timers holding their hands out as wide as possible to demonstrate to a youngster just how big it was....
