Hey, I'm heading to the Sportsman Show tonight, and plan on stocking up on supplies for this weekend (heading to Red), and what wondering what lures work now?

If you are looking for something that is going to work real well, I would consider bringing some dupont spinners, that should fix 'em. grin.gif Just kidding. I would bring red techniglow frostees with the yellow eyes and Northland blue and pink creep worms.(though buyin out the whole store couldn't hurt) last weekend they would only hit on a red jigging spoon with a minnow head or a jigging rapala(go figure). Trying as much stuff as possible will probably be the key to success. I would also bring waxies or mousies along with your crappie minnows, I think that downsizing might be the trick to trigger neutral biters. Only time will tell, will be up there sat and sunday hopefully we can drill enough holes to find some active feeders. good luck everyone

I agree about the WAXIES, I havent stoped by on any of my trips to LOW yet but will be doing Red soon. Last year I switched from minnows to waxies and killed them.On any given day, so bring the kitchen sink and have at it!! smile.gifsmile.gif

Well, I'm probably not the best person to awnsere this question since I have only caught one crappie this year!

But when I was up, it didn't seem to matter what I had on, but dead sticking seemed to be the key. I only caught one fish jigging, all my other fish came on a small pink jig with a Crappie minnow on it.

It seemed if I touched the rod, they took off. The only way I could get them to bite was wait till they pulled the rod tip down good, then let 'em have it! I was also using light action rods.

Hope this helps some. Good luck.

I don't think they have fixed much

More playas bite the dust.  Probably at least 5 more by the sounds of the reports.  Gotta be at least the many so I can be out too!

Have faith. You can see progress and ice depth from previous years on the Eagle Docks FB page. They said 16 inches a day or so ago.  A few years back they had 16 inches only a week before official ice out.  60s to even 70s next weekend.  It will be gone before opener. I'm planning on docks and lifts next weekend, but I am in a small protected bay that goes out pretty early.

We need optimism right now. The small bays haven't even opened up yet, which is typically two weeks before the big bays lose their ice. The forecast is in our favor though and I see that it's windy today, also a great sign.

Go to the DMV, see if there's a serial number on it. They should be able to title it

I moved my blind right into the middle of the field after I left this morning.  It sticks out like a sore thumb on the landscape.  A friend advised me to try this.  We'll see if it works later.  I hate the way it looks without blending in, but I have to try something else.

For a long time I've been getting pop-ups and error pages where I have to back page. I just thought it was the price of playing in the old sand lot! 🤔
