1/11 report

first time on the river this year, man what a day, sun shining and fish bitin. went across to a spot that i hit em pretty good last year, had it locked in on the h2o. and they were there !! 34 ft of water , caught 17 slabs and took home 10 to clean. tiny rattle spoon with a fairly large crappie minnow. marked lots of fish and the ones that hit came flying up off the bottem as i was dropping down and met me about 10 ft off the bottem and there was no doubt they slammed it. cought 8 - 10 nice silvers to there a blast through the ice. good day all in all. ice seemed fine. they didn't start hitting till about 9:00. thats a funny thing about the river for me anyway , there seems to be a later bite so a guy doesn't have to get up so early !

Sweet Report! Those slabs are really nice when you find them. Assuming you were on the WI side, were you directly accross from Bayport, or north of there near highline? Thanks for any info you can provide!

Are you using a chip in your H2O?

If so which one?

I am bought the NEW Expedition and still looking at the chip's I like the NEW 06 Nov chip that just came out.

The IFinder Expedition will be released Mid Feb so I am with out for now.

I have a wheeler and am wonder if you also use one to cross the channel. I guess I am assuming that you put in on the MN side and crossed to the WI side

was out lastnight Bayport area, in 19 fow, nothn didn't mark a fish. didn't go out too far, was out by a few houses. Spoke to a few guys, marked fish all evening but no biters. Would anyone be kind enough to tell where the "rock piles" are located???

I know of one particular rock pile out there, but it is almost impossible for me to describe as I have a heck of a time pinpointing it and I know where it is. All I can tell you is that it is no where close to the "traditional" ice fishing, or even open water, areas!
