Is it me or what, but the site sure has slowed down for for navigating around. It seems like it takes for ever to download a page or topic. What is the story on my Task bar I am no longer going to Fishing Mn. but to Hot Spot Outdoors. Just curious>>later the load

I agree. The last month or so the site has been dreadfully slow. I have no idea what type of equipment they are running, Where I work, we throw away stuff, I could put together a webfarm that would smoke this from what we consider junk.

Northlander, if you know of the equipment being used, or the needs, you have my email address, let me know. I would even be willing to do a cash donation (if you can show me what % would go to the site, and what % would go to admin fees.)hmmm, could it be a tax deduction ?

I know that this site is a constant work in progress and so I sit myself down with patience at the keyboard. There are times when I just fly around the site and times when I can go and make a sandwich while I wait for a post to appear. The part that kills me is a lot of times there is no one on and it is slower then slow. But I don't complain to loudly as I have been told many a time by my wife that I spend way to much time on here. That green bar on the top gives me away all the time... shocked.gif

Case in point the previous post just took 80seconds to load and I am on broadband. Just went and got a pop.. smile.gif

good one. Don't it suck. One day your accused of fishing too much, the next for being on the fishingmn site too much. My wife doesn't care, she will fish the big lake anytime it's not too bumpy. Gotta love it.

The site is slow at times. Ricks in the process of upgrading and in the mean time he's tweaking the software to speed things up.

Pop ups have increased for me for a while now.  Timed to cover my usual taps about the time I would tap.

So there is a boat on a friend's property, has been there for about 4 years, with no contact from owner, and she is unreachable. It was last registered in 2020. Is there any way for him to make it his, legally?

I'm getting a lot of popups adds. Just wondering if it's just my computer or is every one getting them?

Birds at home have been quiet and out of sight.  Not sure where they went.  Last year they wouldn’t respond to calls - until they did.  But that will be common until the girls quit being friendly.

I've seen about 60 turkeys in 1.5 days of hunting thus far.  Unfortunately they are not responding to calls or decoys and the only birds that have walked within range are hens.   It's just a waiting game now.  Deer hunting for turkeys, hoping a legal one walks past before I have to quit in a few days...

A bunch of webcams available these days to see progress as well:   https://lakevermilionresorts.com/webcams/   Looks to be pulling away from shore. I expect ice out between next Friday and Sunday based on temps in the forecast.  Some sun and then some wind would get it going quickly.

But wait Meg, there's more!   Anyway, do you like fishing?  Trolling's kind of fun!  🤭

Well lol, Google is your friend! 🤭     Yes, the 2012 movie "Loon Lake" was filmed in Minnesota. Specifically, it was shot in southwest Minnesota, with locations including Round Lake, Pioneer Village, and Jackson County. The film is also based on a local legend from southwest Minnesota about a witch who lived by Loon Lake.

Well indeed there is a movie and the trailer will help you near down the 25 lakes a lot by just checking into the Loon Lakes in Southwest, MN.  Should be easy now. Have fun.    Eager to escape the grief and nightmares of the city, Louis Olsen travels to Southwest Minnesota, seeking the peace of the rural countryside. When he accidentally disturbs the grave of a supposed local 'witch' Mary Jane Terlinden, what began as a peaceful reprieve unravels into a haunting nightmare from which Louis cannot escape - but is it all just in his head?

Great. That's usually a good sign for ice break-up.
