The ice around the Faribault area is not to bad there is probally 8 inches in most spots but the top 2 inches i would not call good ice

All winter the ice I think has been very good considering that we have had some very warm weather.I usually fish alot on Washington and this past weekend out of the 30-40- holes i punched, all were 8-9 inches.Maybe with some colder weather and keep the snow away we could get another 3-4 which would make it a little better. Some area lakes that I have been on dont have alot of ice,but they are fishable, just need to walk or 4-wheeler and some lakes I have only been walking as I dont know the ice depth. Looks like this will be the first winter in 35 years of ice fishing that I dont drive a car on the ice.

most of the ice looks good i even fooled with the idea of a partial drive down the shore until i drilled under one spot that barely had two inches of ice with maybe two more of slush. Walking sucks but you may arive alive!
