Camp Lake?

Does anyone know anything about Camp Lake on Hwy. 10. I've been seeing a few houses out there going to and from work.

The DNR website shows nothing but bullheads in there.

There are walleyes in there as well. Seems like every few years there's a hot bite reported there early for them. I haven't heard anything for a few years now.

Near Clear Lake just off of Hwy 10.

How do you access the lake I looked at a map and I see 1 rode opposite Hwy. 10 is that where you get on the lake? On my map it looks like a road goes right through the lake.

I was asking around today at work and heard that it may have been a dnr stocking pond for walleyes. That tells me its worth a try. I'm gonna try getting out there early tomorrow morning before work and give it a try. As far as where people park, i usually just see them pulled over as far on the shoulder as they can get right on 10, some even park in the ditch. I'll let you know what i see.

I recall hearing that as well. The lake is also prone to freezing out. But I don't think it has in the past several winters due to how mild they have been.

I made it out this morning, a little later than i had planned. Fished from 7-9:30 in 22 FOW right out from the Hwy. 10 entrance. Marked 4 fish and two of them nudged my pimple but i missed them. I'll probably give it another try sometime this weekend when i can get out there for dusk.

Guys.... Don't get your hopes up for walleyes out there. The last time it was used for rearing was nearly 30 years ago. The last time it was sampled 99-2000 there were some decent panfish and a few bass, but, mostly bullheads..... gobs of them. Hope this helps.
