going out of schusters this weekend

A group of us are staying out of Schusters in there sleepers friday and saturday and looking for reports from that area. Sounds like the fishing has been slow but is better in that area because its close to the river? Anything been working outside of the usual gold color?

Was up there over New Years and the fishing was slow but enough to keep you interested. We were in day houses in and around their sleepers. #4 Demon jigs in all red or white with a green head turned the fish for us. Glow of course. I threw everything in the box at them on our first day and the second day the above worked well. More Saugers then Walleyes but they eat the same! We fished 28 ft and most of the fish were 16" nothing bigger. One big pike made the day fun as well. Good luck and good fishing!!!

Thanks for the report, with the way most people have been doing I'd be pretty happy with enough to keep us busy. I don't know if its effective at all but with the cloudy water might try some scent bait on the minnow or even just down the hole to see if it helps. (always thought it was a bit of a gimmick but who knows)

I like to put Gulp maggots down each hole when I'm out there. It might be more about my sense of needing a fish than their sense of smell. I don't put it on the hook though. Whatever works I guess?!? Out of the two houses our group fished one shack only got three keepers. Ours had 11 and missed alot of bites.
