We finally got into some nice 'eyes this weekend (1/6) A few 8 pounders and two more smaller ones (good eating ones). All caught on Saturday. We also missed a few on Saturday night and Sunday morning. We were in 17 feet of water. Click the links for the pics.

We finally got our house out on Saturday morning, also out of Macs. Set up in 29', lots of small perch on the camera all day. Finally go into some larger eaters around 300pm to dark, no eyes though. Bill

Yeah our house sits on about 17 feet of water. The Walleyes we caught were at dawn and dusk. Nothing much in between. Dawn and dusk were the primetimes this weekend for us anyway. How about anyone else?

I'll be fishing out of Mac's Tue. thru Thurs. this week. Hopefully we catch some fish. What have you guys been using on the Perch? Walleyes?

nice catch Matt!

We got out friday and sunday. A ton of jumbo perch and one pout. Still looking for those walleyes though. Can't seem to be getting the bite on eyes. We were on the south end on Lybacks roads any where from 20 fow in the rocks, 21 & 24 fow in the flats, and 30 fow in the flats. The perch have been hitting on everything. Pimples, jigging raps, jig-n-eye, etc.. They have been biting within a foot of the bottom. Unfortunately I do not have any electronics which might be why we haven't been getting on the eyes. Any help with the eyes would be great for next time out. Maybe a general tip like what road access and what type of baits.

Good fishin.

Pop ups have increased for me for a while now.  Timed to cover my usual taps about the time I would tap.

So there is a boat on a friend's property, has been there for about 4 years, with no contact from owner, and she is unreachable. It was last registered in 2020. Is there any way for him to make it his, legally?

I'm getting a lot of popups adds. Just wondering if it's just my computer or is every one getting them?

Birds at home have been quiet and out of sight.  Not sure where they went.  Last year they wouldn’t respond to calls - until they did.  But that will be common until the girls quit being friendly.

I've seen about 60 turkeys in 1.5 days of hunting thus far.  Unfortunately they are not responding to calls or decoys and the only birds that have walked within range are hens.   It's just a waiting game now.  Deer hunting for turkeys, hoping a legal one walks past before I have to quit in a few days...

A bunch of webcams available these days to see progress as well:   https://lakevermilionresorts.com/webcams/   Looks to be pulling away from shore. I expect ice out between next Friday and Sunday based on temps in the forecast.  Some sun and then some wind would get it going quickly.

But wait Meg, there's more!   Anyway, do you like fishing?  Trolling's kind of fun!  🤭

Well lol, Google is your friend! 🤭     Yes, the 2012 movie "Loon Lake" was filmed in Minnesota. Specifically, it was shot in southwest Minnesota, with locations including Round Lake, Pioneer Village, and Jackson County. The film is also based on a local legend from southwest Minnesota about a witch who lived by Loon Lake.

Well indeed there is a movie and the trailer will help you near down the 25 lakes a lot by just checking into the Loon Lakes in Southwest, MN.  Should be easy now. Have fun.    Eager to escape the grief and nightmares of the city, Louis Olsen travels to Southwest Minnesota, seeking the peace of the rural countryside. When he accidentally disturbs the grave of a supposed local 'witch' Mary Jane Terlinden, what began as a peaceful reprieve unravels into a haunting nightmare from which Louis cannot escape - but is it all just in his head?

Great. That's usually a good sign for ice break-up.
