Lura Lake

Hey guys and gals good to finally be a member. Just wondering if anyone has fished Lura Lake near Mapleton yet this year. I hear they have been pulling some big eyes out of there at night.

I was out there for three days straight along with four other guys. Pulled off the lake this morning with one 4lb er Only had two other hits in all! Talked to some guys out there that had about the same luck. Never seen it this slow in all the while I have fished it.

I have never fished the lake before but have always heard good things. I think i'm going to give it a try some night this week. Good to hear that someone is at least catching something.

does it get fished a alot in the winter? because it doesn't

seem to get much pressure during the summer?

This lake gets heavy fishing pressure since a huge pearch bite a few years ago. The lake is large enuff to hold alot of anglers thou. As far as the bite try out from the acess they call the sportsman acesss. go straigh out you will see were everyone has been drilling holes if there isn't to many wheelers running around you should be able to run some tip ups out away from you. Tip. when you get a flag don't run up to it yelling and shouting walk up slow and quiet so you don't scare offf the school you have been waiting to come in . This lake is just to shallow for noise.
