Got back late last night from a trip to LOW. We fished out of Adrians over Pine Island. On Wednesday (4th) we were out from noon to dark and only came up with three 12" walleyes. We moved around a great deal, trying depths from 28' to 8'. Caught two fish in the shallow water and one deep. Graphed about a dozen fish total, but they were really skittish and would not bite.

Thursday morning (5th) resulted in a blank. We drove up to Long Pt. because a person there had said some clients were having success there the day before, but when we got up there at 7 am there was noone going out. Only one pickup out fishing that we could see. It looked like there was little to no activity at Long Point, so we drove east and tried out of Morris Pt., again fishing shallow and deep (10-30 ft.). Didn't even graph much Thursday morning. Also tried the gap on west side of Pine Island with no luck. By 12 pm we decided to bail and headed to Red Lake. Our luck did not improve there.

Talked to a few groups of people and several of the resorts on LOW and Red and all said fishing was very, very slow. However, as usual, a one or two groups got on a school and were able to catch a few fish.

Sorry is this report is kind of a downer, but I thought I should at least post since I read other reports on this site prior to my trip. Thanks to all who are willing to contribute a report!

Me and a buddy are taking his permanent out of Morris Point tomorrow afternoon. I see fishing hasn't changed much since last weekend. Oh well, it's either that or stay home and do "honey-do's" all day. I'll post when we get back on Sunday.

Northlander, I'll give Curt a call in the early AM and have him call you on 7/11. The guy that told me about winni had already made plans to go to low this weekend or he would have headed over there. If I can get a hold of him I'll try and get the info on winni. and pass it on to Curt tomorrow.

Pop ups have increased for me for a while now.  Timed to cover my usual taps about the time I would tap.

So there is a boat on a friend's property, has been there for about 4 years, with no contact from owner, and she is unreachable. It was last registered in 2020. Is there any way for him to make it his, legally?

I'm getting a lot of popups adds. Just wondering if it's just my computer or is every one getting them?

Birds at home have been quiet and out of sight.  Not sure where they went.  Last year they wouldn’t respond to calls - until they did.  But that will be common until the girls quit being friendly.

I've seen about 60 turkeys in 1.5 days of hunting thus far.  Unfortunately they are not responding to calls or decoys and the only birds that have walked within range are hens.   It's just a waiting game now.  Deer hunting for turkeys, hoping a legal one walks past before I have to quit in a few days...

A bunch of webcams available these days to see progress as well:   https://lakevermilionresorts.com/webcams/   Looks to be pulling away from shore. I expect ice out between next Friday and Sunday based on temps in the forecast.  Some sun and then some wind would get it going quickly.

But wait Meg, there's more!   Anyway, do you like fishing?  Trolling's kind of fun!  🤭

Well lol, Google is your friend! 🤭     Yes, the 2012 movie "Loon Lake" was filmed in Minnesota. Specifically, it was shot in southwest Minnesota, with locations including Round Lake, Pioneer Village, and Jackson County. The film is also based on a local legend from southwest Minnesota about a witch who lived by Loon Lake.

Well indeed there is a movie and the trailer will help you near down the 25 lakes a lot by just checking into the Loon Lakes in Southwest, MN.  Should be easy now. Have fun.    Eager to escape the grief and nightmares of the city, Louis Olsen travels to Southwest Minnesota, seeking the peace of the rural countryside. When he accidentally disturbs the grave of a supposed local 'witch' Mary Jane Terlinden, what began as a peaceful reprieve unravels into a haunting nightmare from which Louis cannot escape - but is it all just in his head?

Great. That's usually a good sign for ice break-up.
