I just got my first portable Ice shelter, a Frabill Ice Cruiser 200! I'll bring it to the cleanup Sat. Any of you old pros care to suggest any else to bring for these flip over style sled shelters? Never used one before.

Thanks,

C & R Guy

CR,

Well, I'm not old, and certainly not pro, but I'll give it a shot.

Make sure you have a license tag on your shack. You also need an ID tag on your shak. The letters of the ID tag must be 2" high and can either have your complete Name & Address, or drivers license #, DNR #. I may not be exactly correct, so please check the regs if your unsure what I mean here.

Heat is nice to have in a shack.

That's about all I can think of that might be different from fishing in a shack as opposed to outside.

One little tip... Steel wool the poles with some "00" very fine. Up and down not round and around. Then clean them up and use some spray silicone. You will not be disapointed.

I have also heard that candle wax on the zipper (if you have one) will prevent moisture and freezing.

See ya tomorrow!

Thanks for the info! I only hope it would snow a couple of inches, dragging it across grass gets a little tedious at times (especially up hills). It seems to be a nice shelter, easy to put up & take down and fishes 2 comfortably. I would recommend it if you're looking for one.
