Enough ice for permanent. (Faribault area)

Hey all was hoping to run around with the portable tonight to try to find a spot to put my wheelhouse on tommorow afternoon to take the kids out for the evening.

Not expecting (but hoping) for a huge bite but some panfish would be nice.

Obviously I would pull it out with the wheeler, not pickup.

Havent fished S. MN since December, a couple of Mil Lacs trips kept me busy.

Hoping to find 8" of good ice. Any suggestions?

Good Luck!! A house and 4wheeler went down on Elysian this week and two trucks on Washington. I was out on tetonka this week, and the top 4" is junk and bottom 4" is good. Then there are what I call "blow holes" where the water either came up on the ice fromw the weight of the snow or ran into the lake when it melted. There were lots of them everywhere.I don't think the ice is ready for a wheelhouse.

Before I posted I had that feeling but was hopeful. I think I will probably just scrap the whole idea.

Where did the house go threw on Elysian. There was some goofy ice down on the first narrows on the north end by the old gravel hole 3 weeks ago. I was thinking of taking the 4 wheeler and the portable this weekend over there but prefer to not ge wet.
