I work there in the summer and was curious what you guys thought of the "new" store. personally as an employee i really like the high ceilings, no more breaking rods on the ceiling. one thing i am not sure about yet is the bait tanks behind an enclosed counter??? lots of you guys like to look at your bait before you buy so i feel this may be a pain in the back.. Let me know what you think Musky

Its in a better location and alot more parking and close to the power house and the gas pumps. As far as the bait tanks i have no problem walking behind the counter to check out the bait. I do most of my pick-ups at this store and encourage everybody else to stop in and support your local bait and tackle store. wink.gif

I didn't know they moved. Where is the new store? I do like to check out the size of minnows before I buy.

its up by the P.R. muni liquer store, or across from Pamida. New store is alot bigger then the old one

I will be anxious to check it out the next time I am in the area. The old store felt kind of cramped so I think this will definately be an improvement.

I have not stopped in yet to break a few rods on the ceiling. I'll have to do that next time I'm up from the cities. Or maybe not.

Thought the store was great. I dont know if it is because of the size of the store or what, but it seemed like there was less tackle there. Bought a new Strike Master Auger (4 Stroke) there. Works great, fires right up and no smoke and drills right through the ice with no problems.

I didn't mind the old store. I was always heading in the right direction anyway. I do like to check out the minnow. Not for size, but grandpa told me always check out what the minnows are doing. Bunched up in a corner;fish the breaks. Scattered through the tank; fish the flats.

Hey Guys,

I was in there last Monday and bought some sucker and

smaller minnows for Ice fishing. I have to say that the

knew store is pretty good. As for the fishing on Potato

Lake is sucked nothing but perch. It's kind of suprising

becuase the ice wasn't that thick.

My family and I fish in PR about 10 times a year. There is about 50 of us that go up off and on all summer and all 50 of us get together for 2 weeks up on Fishhook in July.

I personally am very picky about my bait. I look for liveliness and size. I like Northern because I can go back and look at the bait. I have never felt at Delaney's that I could do that. You always seems to get the look when you step between the counters like who the hell do you think you are.

I have not been in the new store yet but I know where it is. I will check it out in a few weeks.

My family and I have been going to PR for the last 16 years and will continue to.

One thing I continue to notice is the the attitude toward us "tourists" I think it is funny that PR needs the tourism but over the years I think they have lost ability to act like they do. I feel that way more at Delaney's then anywhere else.

So with that being said Delaney's will be my second choice for bait.

Northern always makes feel welcome.

Now hopfefully with you working there things may change some. I will talk the family into trying out Delaney's again.

Just my .02 cents.

That will be nice not having the 612'ers break fishing poles on the ceiling anymore.... smirk.gif

i am sorry that i made it sound like only tourists break rods because we all make mistakes, however tourist are generally the ones buying new gear at delaneys in the summer months, that being said i do relize the importance of tourism to the area, being a guide in the area i have never guided anyone from a 100 mile proximity to P.R. i know i need you guys and i know that the town wouldn't be what it is if it werent for you guys. sorry if i hurt anyones feelings it wasn't my intention. I don't think they have fixed much

More playas bite the dust.  Probably at least 5 more by the sounds of the reports.  Gotta be at least the many so I can be out too!

Have faith. You can see progress and ice depth from previous years on the Eagle Docks FB page. They said 16 inches a day or so ago.  A few years back they had 16 inches only a week before official ice out.  60s to even 70s next weekend.  It will be gone before opener. I'm planning on docks and lifts next weekend, but I am in a small protected bay that goes out pretty early.

We need optimism right now. The small bays haven't even opened up yet, which is typically two weeks before the big bays lose their ice. The forecast is in our favor though and I see that it's windy today, also a great sign.

Go to the DMV, see if there's a serial number on it. They should be able to title it

I moved my blind right into the middle of the field after I left this morning.  It sticks out like a sore thumb on the landscape.  A friend advised me to try this.  We'll see if it works later.  I hate the way it looks without blending in, but I have to try something else.

For a long time I've been getting pop-ups and error pages where I have to back page. I just thought it was the price of playing in the old sand lot! 🤔
