Few small lakes became ice free yesterday. It's beautiful to see. So much waterfowl, bluebills, mallards, wood ducks, saw a blue wing teal yesterday. Goldeneye and mergansers everywhere. Awesome time of year -

Gus, and I were out walking our trail this morning, and came across this pile of doodoo. After seeing this, the only reasonable question is did he eat the can of neon green paint before/after he ate the deer? lol Did hear our first grouse drumming as well. Jim -

To play devil's advocate, don't we all use government-supplied lake access (i.e. roads)? I agree with you that using any public access for long-term storage is pushing the limits, but I think that we all pay enough in taxes and fees that overnight parking should remain available at all of the access lots on Vermilion. -

Unfortunately we got very little rain. Didn't help the ice melt or fire danger much. Enjoying watching all the different types of waterfowl stopping in the small open water by our north shoreline. Current board is shown below. Ice should be off our lake before May. Looks like somebody will be SkunkedAgain. (LOL, sorry) -
