Well, tomorrow its new tires for the truck, a fresh oil change, and packing up for my trip. I will be on my way to Duluth on Sat afternoon. I am anxious to get up and get started at my new job and the chance to make so many new freinds who enjoy the outdoors as much as I do.

Hope to see many of you real soon! Look for a Green F150 with "Fishahollik" on the bug deflector, that would be me!

Truck is loaded and I am leaving here soon. If you see me this afternoon in DUluth, feel free to wave, I will be sure to wave back!

I envy you wade, I would like to relocate to the northland for sure. this rat race down here in big lake is getting worse every week, it won't be long till we are part of the twin cities.

I am a machinist, so there are jobs up that way, just have to take a pay cut, but it will be worth it.

wade, you must be a U.S. navy guy, thanks for your service to this great country.

my father was in the navy in WWII, he was on the shores of iwa jima when the marines raised the flag. he just asked me if I wanted to go with him to new york, as he will be on FX about war stories. he already has been on the history channel about iwa jima, I am very proud.

Interesting story Knoppers. Just watched a show on Iwa on the History Channel the other day. I wonder if your Father was on that one? Welcome to the Northland Wade. Junky....

Wade,

Now that you are here. What is the 1st day you plan to fish? I'm sure with a little notice a few of us mignt be able to hook-up. Welcome to Duluth!!!! I'm not sure if you have posted this answer before, but what part of town did you get a place? See ya on the ice.

Take care,

Tom (BD110)

I think there are a couple places in Two Harbors looking for Machinists. La Bounty is one that I heard of a while back.

Let's see, less pay but some actual peace and quiet and a more sane lifestyle = why I live up here and not down in the Metro.

By the way I used to be a machinist too.

Tom, I haven't found a place yet, I am currently staying with a freind who lives in Jacobson. I plan on fishing next weekend. Not sure if i will fish around jacobson or duluth. Anyone wanna show me where the crappies are around Big ball bluff?

Pop ups have increased for me for a while now.  Timed to cover my usual taps about the time I would tap.

So there is a boat on a friend's property, has been there for about 4 years, with no contact from owner, and she is unreachable. It was last registered in 2020. Is there any way for him to make it his, legally?

I'm getting a lot of popups adds. Just wondering if it's just my computer or is every one getting them?

Birds at home have been quiet and out of sight.  Not sure where they went.  Last year they wouldn’t respond to calls - until they did.  But that will be common until the girls quit being friendly.

I've seen about 60 turkeys in 1.5 days of hunting thus far.  Unfortunately they are not responding to calls or decoys and the only birds that have walked within range are hens.   It's just a waiting game now.  Deer hunting for turkeys, hoping a legal one walks past before I have to quit in a few days...

A bunch of webcams available these days to see progress as well:   https://lakevermilionresorts.com/webcams/   Looks to be pulling away from shore. I expect ice out between next Friday and Sunday based on temps in the forecast.  Some sun and then some wind would get it going quickly.

But wait Meg, there's more!   Anyway, do you like fishing?  Trolling's kind of fun!  🤭

Well lol, Google is your friend! 🤭     Yes, the 2012 movie "Loon Lake" was filmed in Minnesota. Specifically, it was shot in southwest Minnesota, with locations including Round Lake, Pioneer Village, and Jackson County. The film is also based on a local legend from southwest Minnesota about a witch who lived by Loon Lake.

Well indeed there is a movie and the trailer will help you near down the 25 lakes a lot by just checking into the Loon Lakes in Southwest, MN.  Should be easy now. Have fun.    Eager to escape the grief and nightmares of the city, Louis Olsen travels to Southwest Minnesota, seeking the peace of the rural countryside. When he accidentally disturbs the grave of a supposed local 'witch' Mary Jane Terlinden, what began as a peaceful reprieve unravels into a haunting nightmare from which Louis cannot escape - but is it all just in his head?

Great. That's usually a good sign for ice break-up.
