colorpoint transducer ?

Question

Posted

Am having trouble getting a good signal with my colorpoint. I believe the transducer has gone bad as i need to turn the gain up all the way and can only see my lure when i flick it and then just barely. It has always worked just fine till i took it out this year for the first time. The battery is ok and i can read the bottom and also see fish but it acts as tho i don't have the gain turned high enough even tho i crank it up all the way to ten. The transducer has developed a little bulge on the bottom so suspect that is it. I tried a friend's transducer and it seemed to work ok. Now the problem is i have called everywhere and done a search on the internet and at this point i don't believe there exists a transducer anywhere. I know i should just get an lx5 but $$$$$. Any ideas?

E-bay possibly??

I had just sold my old Colorpoint about 6 months ago otherwise I probably could have hooked you up.

If you are looking to save a little coin, I just saw Marcum LX-1's at Dicks Sporting Goods for about $180. Pretty cheap for an awesome little basic flasher.

Pop ups have increased for me for a while now.  Timed to cover my usual taps about the time I would tap.

So there is a boat on a friend's property, has been there for about 4 years, with no contact from owner, and she is unreachable. It was last registered in 2020. Is there any way for him to make it his, legally?

I'm getting a lot of popups adds. Just wondering if it's just my computer or is every one getting them?

Birds at home have been quiet and out of sight.  Not sure where they went.  Last year they wouldn’t respond to calls - until they did.  But that will be common until the girls quit being friendly.

I've seen about 60 turkeys in 1.5 days of hunting thus far.  Unfortunately they are not responding to calls or decoys and the only birds that have walked within range are hens.   It's just a waiting game now.  Deer hunting for turkeys, hoping a legal one walks past before I have to quit in a few days...

A bunch of webcams available these days to see progress as well:   https://lakevermilionresorts.com/webcams/   Looks to be pulling away from shore. I expect ice out between next Friday and Sunday based on temps in the forecast.  Some sun and then some wind would get it going quickly.

But wait Meg, there's more!   Anyway, do you like fishing?  Trolling's kind of fun!  🤭

Well lol, Google is your friend! 🤭     Yes, the 2012 movie "Loon Lake" was filmed in Minnesota. Specifically, it was shot in southwest Minnesota, with locations including Round Lake, Pioneer Village, and Jackson County. The film is also based on a local legend from southwest Minnesota about a witch who lived by Loon Lake.

Well indeed there is a movie and the trailer will help you near down the 25 lakes a lot by just checking into the Loon Lakes in Southwest, MN.  Should be easy now. Have fun.    Eager to escape the grief and nightmares of the city, Louis Olsen travels to Southwest Minnesota, seeking the peace of the rural countryside. When he accidentally disturbs the grave of a supposed local 'witch' Mary Jane Terlinden, what began as a peaceful reprieve unravels into a haunting nightmare from which Louis cannot escape - but is it all just in his head?

Great. That's usually a good sign for ice break-up.
