What are the "must haves" in the tackle box when targeting walleyes and perch on the Mille Lacs hardwater? Thanks for any insight in advance.

hawkeye, I like to carry a variety of spoons and jiggin raps. I do really well on the Lindy rattle spoons and their frostie spoons. I like to have them in many different colors and sizes. Gold, perch, silver chartures, and glow in the dark. Seem to always work for me. As for raps perch, blue, and black are all good. I tip all of these with the head of a rainbow. Good Luck

I've done well with buckshot rattle spoons and a minnow.

My favorite lure on Mille Lacs is the Go or glo-devil , perch color, green glow on back. I also have a bunch of swedish pimples, gold color and the glow. minnow head. I also like to have a dead stick with red hook and red bead. Good luck!

Swedish pimples. Gold and glow. Also, Gem-n-Eyes under a bobber with a small shiner is hard to beat.

When I'm on Mille Lacs the first thing I throw down is a silver pimple with a chartruse sticker. After an hour or so of not catching a darn thing I start drinking heavy and go with the gold JB spoon. I believe the JB spoon is discontinued but it's a good flashy/noisy lure when you need to get their attention. Keep in mind I usually don't do that well; It's just been so long since I've posted I...I...I just want to fit in.

But seriously when looking for perch you can't beat a gold Hali with a small crappie minnow or mayfly larvae.

I don't think they have fixed much

More playas bite the dust.  Probably at least 5 more by the sounds of the reports.  Gotta be at least the many so I can be out too!

Have faith. You can see progress and ice depth from previous years on the Eagle Docks FB page. They said 16 inches a day or so ago.  A few years back they had 16 inches only a week before official ice out.  60s to even 70s next weekend.  It will be gone before opener. I'm planning on docks and lifts next weekend, but I am in a small protected bay that goes out pretty early.

We need optimism right now. The small bays haven't even opened up yet, which is typically two weeks before the big bays lose their ice. The forecast is in our favor though and I see that it's windy today, also a great sign.

Go to the DMV, see if there's a serial number on it. They should be able to title it

I moved my blind right into the middle of the field after I left this morning.  It sticks out like a sore thumb on the landscape.  A friend advised me to try this.  We'll see if it works later.  I hate the way it looks without blending in, but I have to try something else.

For a long time I've been getting pop-ups and error pages where I have to back page. I just thought it was the price of playing in the old sand lot! 🤔
