New Ice Armor Gloves

Question

Posted

Anyone try thses new Ice Armor gloves by Clam? I am on my second pair in three days. They must have used the cheapest most brittle velcro in all of China. I bought the first pair on Saturday and wore them out bow hunting Sunday. It was cold. I think I remember -4 when I went out in the afternoon. When I tried to adjust the wrist straps the velcro just shattered. I returned then today and exchanged them for another pair. The new pair is already the same way. I think I will be looking for a refund this time.

In case anyone is wondering the gloves do not breath very well either. If your hands sweat they feel wet for a long time.

I asked about them at a local sporting goods store, and he said the same thing happened to his pair.

Picked up a pair at the ice fishing show in St. Paul earlier this month. Used them for the first time the other day. Guess I can't say I've had any problems with them, yet...

Northern, shoot an e-mail off to Clam... They did have a bad batch of velcro on the some of the gloves, and the store you bought them at might have had a a couple of these pairs.

I got a pair just as you did, got a new pair, and havent had a problem since.

I did actually send an email to Clam yesterday. I haven't heard anything back yet. If I do get a reply I will let you know what they have to say for themselves.

I have been enjoying mine. Very comfortable and warm even though the outside gets wet the inside is nice and dry.

They work great most of the time(when it's warmer) but I learned that when I don't bring the portable along I still have to take them off when I need to put my fingers/hand in the water. In a couple of minutes the fingers freeze up on the outside, sure they are dry on the inside, but on the outside they are all frozen and icy which makes for frozen fingers.Luckily I brought along my trusty choppers.I've had no problem with the velcro, even in cold(around 0).

Pop ups have increased for me for a while now.  Timed to cover my usual taps about the time I would tap.

So there is a boat on a friend's property, has been there for about 4 years, with no contact from owner, and she is unreachable. It was last registered in 2020. Is there any way for him to make it his, legally?

I'm getting a lot of popups adds. Just wondering if it's just my computer or is every one getting them?

Birds at home have been quiet and out of sight.  Not sure where they went.  Last year they wouldn’t respond to calls - until they did.  But that will be common until the girls quit being friendly.

I've seen about 60 turkeys in 1.5 days of hunting thus far.  Unfortunately they are not responding to calls or decoys and the only birds that have walked within range are hens.   It's just a waiting game now.  Deer hunting for turkeys, hoping a legal one walks past before I have to quit in a few days...

A bunch of webcams available these days to see progress as well:   https://lakevermilionresorts.com/webcams/   Looks to be pulling away from shore. I expect ice out between next Friday and Sunday based on temps in the forecast.  Some sun and then some wind would get it going quickly.

But wait Meg, there's more!   Anyway, do you like fishing?  Trolling's kind of fun!  🤭

Well lol, Google is your friend! 🤭     Yes, the 2012 movie "Loon Lake" was filmed in Minnesota. Specifically, it was shot in southwest Minnesota, with locations including Round Lake, Pioneer Village, and Jackson County. The film is also based on a local legend from southwest Minnesota about a witch who lived by Loon Lake.

Well indeed there is a movie and the trailer will help you near down the 25 lakes a lot by just checking into the Loon Lakes in Southwest, MN.  Should be easy now. Have fun.    Eager to escape the grief and nightmares of the city, Louis Olsen travels to Southwest Minnesota, seeking the peace of the rural countryside. When he accidentally disturbs the grave of a supposed local 'witch' Mary Jane Terlinden, what began as a peaceful reprieve unravels into a haunting nightmare from which Louis cannot escape - but is it all just in his head?

Great. That's usually a good sign for ice break-up.
